Reporting directly to the CEO, the Executive Assistant (EA) functions as an integral and indispensable executive team member providing advanced administrative support to the CEO of the agency, increasing their availability for executive-level responsibilities. The EA performs a variety of support tasks necessary to create an efficient, professional and effective office environment, anticipating and providing the resources and assistance needed to advance agency goals and priorities.
The ideal individual will have the ability to exercise good judgment in a variety of situations, engage in a strategic thought process, and maintain a balance among multiple priorities. The EA will have the ability to work independently on projects, from conception to completion, and must be able to work under pressure at times to handle a wide variety of activities and confidential matters with discretion. EA must be a pro-active self-starter who has a high degree of maturity, integrity and strong interpersonal skills.
The successful candidates must possess the following educations and qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in humanities, business or social sciences or the equivalent is preferred. Five or more years of experience as an executive-level administrative assistant is required, preferably for a nonprofit. Experience as a legal secretary or political intern would be helpful. Expertise in Microsoft Office applications, esp. Word, Excel, Outlook and Powerpoint. Ability to quickly learn new technologies, programs, and applications; possess a passion for implementing technology to increase efficiency. Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks with little or no supervision. Strong scheduling and coordination skills, and comfortable with last-minute changes. Excellent oral and written communication skills
