Director of Philanthropy

SUMMARY OF POSITION

The St. Andrew’s Charitable Foundation Director of Philanthropy assists in generating financial resources to support programs and services of the communities within St. Andrew’s Resources for Seniors System. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Draft and meet annual revenue goals by securing donations.
  • Develop annual donors into major/planned gift donors through annual fund strategies.
  • Identify, cultivate, solicit and steward individuals focusing on Leadership Council and Legacy Society. 
  • Manage a portfolio of donors, prospects and family members at The Willows and Brooking Park.
  • Encourage residents and family members to participate in St. Andrew’s events.
  • Coordinate communication with community employees and help employees to promote philanthropy.
  • Participate in identifying and soliciting funding requests for sponsorships of events. 
  • Contribute to newsletters, annual reports, social media postings and other donor communications.
  • Ensure donor acknowledgment and recognition strategies are working at optimal level.
  • Promote customer satisfaction and continuous quality improvement to ensure desired outcomes.
  • Comply with all policies and procedures, including but not limited to safety and corporate compliance.

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES NECESSARY

  • College degree required; advanced study or education in fundraising/nonprofit management desirable.
  • Ten or more years of direct fundraising and CFRE preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel; Raiser’s Edge experience helpful.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Proven experience in developing donor relationships and successfully asking for and receiving donations
  • Experience working with volunteers
  • Ability to think strategically and work collaboratively with various constituents
  • Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills
  • Enjoyment working with people
  • Professional business and phone demeanor
  • Ability to work both independently and have a sense of humor
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
