Crown Center for Senior Living

Service Coordinator

Description/Summary:  Direct service position at not-for profit senior housing development and community center.  Primary responsibilities are providing professional staffing for social nutrition program and related social services.

Reports To:  Director of Resident & Community Services

Hours:  Full Time; generally 40 hours a week; Monday through Friday, usually 10:30 am to 6:30 pm

Pay Range:  Based on qualifications and prior experience

Available:  Immediately

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor level degree required, preferably in human services
  • Excellent communication and “people” skills
  • Interest in working with a multi-disciplinary staff team, diverse client population
  • Detail-oriented organization and administrative skills including follow through
  • Record of direct service experience, preferably with older adults and/or volunteers
  • Comfortable utilizing Microsoft Office programs; ability to learn/utilize database systems
  • Requires the ability to move easily around the interior of the building, sit for periods of time, as well as occasionally lift up to 10 lbs. Reliable transportation required

Job Responsibilities Include:

  • Coordinates daily operations and administrative support of kosher meal site (Mid-East Agency on Aging)
  • Manages program participation including outreach, programming, reservations, administration and implementation of congregate and home delivery programs
  • Interfaces and coordinates with vendors, colleagues, co-workers, volunteers, and others to ensure compliance, funding, nutritional, health and safety standards
  • Provides information, referrals, advocacy and supportive counseling
  • Administers client assessments; collects, maintains and utilizes data pertaining to services and programs
  • Provides direct service to clients; groups and individually
  • Assist with special events; health and wellness programs
  • Supports energetic and dedicated group of volunteers with detailed planning, patience, and flexibility
  • Performs other related tasks as assigned
