Foster & Adoptive Care Coalition

ReFresh is not your typical resale store. The only thing that can top fashionable clothes at reasonable prices is shopping in the name of a great cause. ReFresh is managed by the Foster & Adoptive Care Coalition, a St. Louis non-profit that finds forever families for area children in foster care. Proceeds benefit the Foster & Adoptive Care Coalition’s important work. The store manager is one of a team of three professionals at ReFresh in overseeing the day-to-day operations of volunteer coordination, customer service, and merchandising.  We have extraordinary volunteers who make invaluable contributions to ReFresh operations, therefore the ideal candidate will have experience in working with and/or as a volunteer.

Job responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Greet and assist shoppers with a focus on store and agency mission
  • Train, staff, direct, oversee store and assist volunteer coordinator with volunteers
  • Created social and digital media campaigns
  • Contribute to daily, monthly, and annual goals
  • Maintain inventory through regular processing of donations
  • Complete cash flow including cash handling and deposit reconciliation
  • Ensure a safe and clean store environment
  • Preserve integrity of the store and agency through high quality customer and volunteer service
  • Retain volunteer and customer records within a point of sale system
  • Other duties as assigned

The Coalition hires individuals who are:

  • Confident enough to work independently, while knowing when to reach out for help
  • Flexible and with the highest level of professional integrity

The minimum qualification is 3 years of retail management experience. Candidates must demonstrate strong leadership skills with the ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks while maintaining a strong customer focus. This is a retail position that requires lifting of bulk (including bagged or boxed) merchandise and a willingness to roll up your sleeves and do what is needed to get the job done. This is a full-time position with full benefits available. Please note that ReFresh is more demanding than other retail entities.  The energy level required is more closely related to that of a server during peak hours. Schedules will be coordinated to cover a Sunday- Saturday work week. Weekend hours and some holidays are required.
