Position: Executive Director
Reports To: Board of Directors
Classification: Full-Time, In-Office, possibility of remote work 1-2 days a week after training period
Salary Range: $95,000 – $110,000

Microfinancing Partners in Africa (MPA) is seeking a dynamic Executive Director to lead our organization, strengthen our community presence, and drive our mission of empowering communities in Africa through microfinancing.

About Us: Microfinancing Partners in Africa (MPA) is dedicated to providing financial support and resources to improve the lives of individuals and communities in Africa. We work to build sustainable economic growth through microfinancing initiatives.
Role Overview: The Executive Director will lead the organization through interactions with the Board of Directors, Staff, and Donors. The Executive Director will oversee key initiatives for MPA’s fundraising efforts while giving administrative guidance to the staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Development:
– Develop and oversee fundraising plans, meeting or exceeding revenue targets.
– Cultivate new donors and enhance donor retention.
– Serve as an ambassador of MPA’s identity, mission, and brand.
Board Leadership:
– Communicate effectively with the board and guide strategic planning processes.
– Plan and implement the annual strategic planning board retreat.
Staff Management:
– Foster a culture of transparency, integrity, and teamwork.
– Oversight of MPA’s employees and volunteer’s on behalf of the organization
– Ensure compliance with workplace and employment laws.
– Conduct annual performance reviews and manage payroll.
– Develop and implement a 2-5 year organizational design plan.
Program Management:
– Ensure programs maximize mission impact and meet board expectations.
– Oversee annual program, partner, and project assessment and funding.
– Lead or participate in annual trips to visit partners in Africa (15-19 days).
Financial Controls:
– Ensure adherence to sound financial policies and practices including regulatory compliance and timely tax filings.
– Conduct annual external auditor compilations.
– Lead budget priorities and manage the organization to meet budget goals.
Risk Management:
– Secure appropriate insurance policies and implement safety protocols.
– Develop policies for travel, disaster management, and asset stewardship.
Qualifications:
– Proven leadership and development experience in nonprofit management.
– Strong communication and organizational skills.
– Ability to cultivate relationships with donors, board members, and staff.
– Experience in strategic planning.
– Passion for international development and microfinancing.
– Interest in or previous experience in traveling to Africa.
