Organization Summary
· Beta Gamma Sigma (BGS) is the international business honor society that recognizes the academic achievements of the top 10% of business students in the top 5% of business schools around the world that are accredited by AACSB (Association for the Advancement of College Schools of Business). BGS has chapters in 600 colleges and universities around the globe. There are more than 875,000 inductees since BGS was established in 1913. BGS also has 31 alumni chapters – 21 in the U.S. and 10 outside the U.S.

Duties and responsibilities
The Associate Director of Business Development is responsible for revenue targets for corporate sponsorships, affiliate partner programs, and individual donor giving. Current year goal: $535,000.
As a member of the management team, the Associate Director participates in strategic planning and budget initiatives impacting the entire organization. He/she works within the guidelines, policies and mission of the organization and will be accountable and responsible for specific projects as assigned.
· Responsible for the development, implementation, management, and evaluation of all activities related to individual giving, corporate sponsorships, advertising, and affiliate partnerships,
· Remain current on all legislation and ethical practices pertaining to fundraising.
· Work closely the Associate Director of IT to supervise, manage and maintain the integrity and effectiveness of the donor/membership database.
Source and secure member benefit opportunities in the U.S. and for international members.
· Other duties as assigned based on organization priorities and objectives
Qualifications
· Minimum Bachelor’s Degree required.
· Minimum of five years of experience in development (fundraising/donor relations).
· Proven record in achieving /exceeding revenue goals.
· Inside sales experience desired with an enthusiasm for cold calls.
· Ability to persuasively articulate value propositions to stakeholders.
· Excellent customer service skills, in particular with phone and email communication.
· Corporate relations experience, including ability to work comfortably with high-level stakeholders.
· Energetic and self-directed, with effective time management and organizational skills including the ability to deal with multiple priorities.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Experience using online databases and other sources to locate corporate/affiliate information is required.
· CFRE certification is an asset.
Travel: Donor and sponsor contact are by phone or email or other digital communication. This is not a job that requires travel to prospects. Travel may be for two Board of Governors meetings a year and one conference. If the position is filled in Chicago, there will be occasional trips to the St. Louis headquarters.
