Summary:
Moving vulnerable children and families in the direction of hope providing direct therapeutic services and participating in the development, delivery, and evaluation of all phases of the services offered through the agency’s Developmental Trauma Center under the direction of the Program Director and Assessment Services Program Manager in accordance with the policies and procedures of FamilyForward and approved by the Board of Directors, by performing the following duties.
Psychologists may receive on-going peer supervision from other Developmental Trauma Center staff members providing assessment, therapy, and parent education services, and from the other sources as deemed necessary.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Clinical Services
- Provide outpatient mental health services to foster and adopted children and their families and to other types of clients as time permits. The average age range of the children is 0 to 21 years. The psychological service provider will: offer standardized evaluation and assessment measures; offer written and verbal evaluation of the child’s current functioning in relationship with others, internal view of self and others, and cognitive functioning; provide family-based interventions, with less emphasis placed on individual approaches.
- Provide clinical consultation for FamilyForward therapy staff.
- Participate in community education forums that focus on adoption, foster care, bonding, and attachment.
- Attend education or team meetings for children, and to work closely with child protective services, social workers, attorneys, psychiatrists, counselors, and psychologists.
- Prepare summary reports on their clients for social workers, attorneys, judges, or others, as needed; provide testimony in court as required.
- Train and supervise student interns.
- Program Development and Evaluation
- Participate with other staff in the overall development and evaluation of the program.
- Attend staff meetings and individual meetings as requested by the supervisor.
- Assist in the revision of existing policies and procedures related to the delivery of services and write policies and procedures where necessary.
- Assist with the development of new agency programs to meet community needs.
- Assist with the review and evaluation of ongoing agency programs.
- Accept cases from other programs and being an informed agency advocate.
- Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
- Open and maintain current records on all clients in accordance with agency policies and procedures for treatment.
- Keep statistical accounts of caseloads by month.
- Be responsible for a portion of a rotating intake system in accordance with agency programs and needs.
- Become familiar with and maintain a working knowledge of community resources applicable to client needs.
- Represent the agency in the community by participating in inter-agency functions and other community social services functions.
- Continue to develop professional knowledge and skills by attending in-service training sessions and relevant conferences in the community, and by becoming familiar with current professional publications.
- Exhibit conduct and provide service in keeping with the ethics of the profession.
- Maintain licensure in good standing.
- Perform related work as required or as delegated by supervisor.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Requirements:
- Doctorate degree in clinical psychology.
- Minimum of three years of experience.
- Must disclose any Board or liability insurance complaints.
- Must not be on probation with their licensing authority.
- Must have experience working with children and families, and personal or professional experience with adoption and/or foster care.
- A background that includes familiarity and experience in attachment-based approaches is preferred.
Training, Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
- Must be licensed or eligible for licensure in the State of Missouri (e.g., PsyD, PhD).
- Participate in 20 hours of staff training/in-service on an annual basis (prorated for part-time).
Technology Requirements:
- Operate a PC terminal.
- Operate a telephone, calculator, photocopy, and fax machine.
- Ability to utilize Microsoft Office Suite.
