The Oasis Institute
Oasis offers an exciting opportunity for a nonprofit professional to gain experience with the philanthropy process with Oasis, including direct mail appeal management, gift processing, grant writing, and donor research. The Development Coordinator will work closely with the Senior Director of Development and the Associate Director of Development to advance and execute activities that support The Oasis Institute. The Oasis Institute, a national nonprofit organization, is headquartered in St. Louis, with a mission to promote healthy aging through programs in lifelong learning, health promotion and volunteer engagement in 9 Oasis centers and 250 communities across the country.
Responsibilities:
· Manage spring and fall direct mail appeal process for St. Louis and the Oasis network.
· Manage gift acknowledgement process, including timely and accurate acknowledgement of all gifts; Process credit card transactions through Qgiv and ensure responsible and secure use of processing software.
· Manage recurring giving process, including administering annual tax letter.
· Assist with writing grant proposals for St. Louis and the Oasis network.
· Manage timelines on grant applications and manage reporting requirements for corporate, foundation, and government grants for the Oasis network.
· Assist with donor stewardship, including donor acknowledgement lists, annual report lists, etc.
· Provide donor prospecting and research support, including developing donor profiles and meeting memos; prepare folders and materials for donor meetings.
· Maintain updated profiles for accrediting bodies such as Guidestar and Better Business Bureau.
Required:
· Bachelor’s degree
· 1- 3 years related experience
· Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
· Database entry and database management skills
· Ability to meet deadlines
· Able to work in fast-paced environment
· Exceptional attention to detail
· Strong understanding of importance of ethical fundraising
Preferred:
– Experience with grant writing
