Facilities

  • Hire, supervise and schedule all maintenance personnel.
  • Maintain all systems integral to building’s functionality. This includes but is not limited to HVAC, elevators, fire sprinklers, fire alarms, burglar alarm, electrical panels, landscaping, etc.
  • Ensure all annual inspections are completed and submitted to the city. This includes but is not limited to fire sprinkler, fire alarm, all backflow devices, fire extinguishers, annual health inspections, etc.
  • Maintain proper standards of cleanliness throughout the interior and exterior of the facility for all Sheldon and rental events. Conduct a daily walk-through of facility inside and out to identify daily needs.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for all contractors.
  • Oversee the functionality of any offsite storage facilities, including HVAC, Security, etc.
  • Coordinate all necessary repairs so that they are done in a timely manner yet do not interfere with previously scheduled events at the facility including touch up paint, carpet cleaning, cleaning of hardwood flooring, etc.
  • Gather bids for long term repairs/improvements and report to Executive Director and Director of Finance.
  • Order and maintain inventory of all cleaning supplies, paper products, etc. This includes, but is not limited to cups, coffee, restroom supplies, towels, floor mats, linens, etc.
  • Work with Events Operations Manager and Director of Events to execute all room setups in order to meet load in deadlines of artists, rental clients, vendors, etc.
  • Maintain all gallery fixtures are properly stored and accessible when needed for installation.
  • Accommodate the construction of any needed gallery fixtures or extraneous installation needs.
  • Maintain all misc. equipment needed for event functionality. This includes tables, chairs, carts, 2-way radios, etc.

Skills and other requirements –

  • Excellent communication skills for interaction with staff, vendors and clients
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Proficient in Excel, Word and Outlook (Microsoft Office suite)
  • Proficient in use of tools (saws, drills, and other carpentry equipment) and repair skills including drywall patching, painting, etc. as needed to perform job.
  • Current driver’s license and transportation

Physical requirements and expectations –

  • Ability to lift up to 80 pounds
  • Ability to maneuver stairs, ladders, genie lift, etc.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to navigate in dark rooms
