LASE Specialized Education

Position Summary (Aug. 1, 2021 start date)

The Donor Relations Manager is a passionate advocate for Christ-centered special education for children and is deeply motivated to help donors reach their philanthropic goals while advancing the mission and vison of LASE Specialized Education.

Overview

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Donor Relations Manager will help develop and implement a robust major gifts program and play an essential role by identifying and cultivating new and current major gift donors. This team member will manage a portfolio of current and prospective donors, make requests for major gifts and assist with marketing, communications and volunteer recruitment.

Job Description

·       Execute Resource Development Plan, driving fundraising goals to completion through individual giving, planned giving, direct mail and other giving opportunities

·       Research, identify, cultivate and steward donors in partnership with the Executive Director

·       Develop and implement a moves management system that tracks prospects from identification to solicitation

·       Oversee and maintain the fundraising database (e-tapestry)

·       Pull queries and generate requested reports (e-tapestry)

·       Work collaboratively with Director of Events to maximize revenue of two annual fundraising events

·       Create and steward a planned giving program

·       Develop a Legacy Giving Society to assist with increased giving

·       Work with Resource Development committee in securing new prospects, open new doors into our ministry and securing revenue

·       Develops proposals for donor solicitations

·       Recruits volunteers to serve the LASE ministry

·       Develops and implements marketing/communication strategies that align with the LASE resource development plan

·       Assists with writing proposals for curriculum/educational grants.

·       Develops and assists with social media platforms

·       Edit content for website, newsletters and social media presence

·       Performs other duties related to resource development, marketing, and communications as needed

Job Requirements/Skills and Competencies

·       Undergraduate Degree

·      A minimum of 3 years’ experience in development

·       Major Gift fundraising experience or Development/Sales experience

·       Passion for children with special learning needs

·       Proven ability to build strong relationships with donors and volunteers

·       Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint

·       Proficient in donor database (e-tapestry), preferred (training is available)

·       Exceptional written and verbal communications

·       Results oriented

·       Member in a Christian church, LCMS congregation, preferred

·       Possess integrity, people skills, communication skills, an ability to motivate others

·       Professional discretion and judgement in confidential matters

·       Willingness to travel within the metro St. Louis area
