Overview

The Donor Services Manager’s primary responsibilities are to fulfill the duties that underpin our service commitment to existing donors as we support them in pursuing their charitable giving goals and work to encourage strategic grantmaking.  This is a professional position with significant relationship, customer-service, and stewardship responsibilities.  It requires a deep understanding of the Foundation’s mission, goals and business model, and an in-depth knowledge of the Foundation’s broad range of resources and services.

Reports to

§  Donor Relations and Services Officer

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

§  Implement, maintain, and improve the quality of the core administrative and relationship management systems that support the Foundation’s donor advised grantmaking.  These systems, shared among Philanthropic Services staff, include:

·         Accurate, timely donor advised grant processing in CSuite, the Foundation’s new operating system, including creation and personalization of grant letters

·         Creation of weekly Executive Committee Memo, the grant approval process

·         Individual, family, and organization records management, including meaningful contact notes

·         Grant compliance with Foundation policy, internal controls, and IRS requirements

·         Tracking and providing follow-up and service commitments to existing relationships, including annual meetings that incorporate other staff, as appropriate

·         Fund Central troubleshooting and seeking solutions for those experiencing issues with the platform

§  Serve as a relationship steward for Fund Advisors, providing a smooth transition from Fund Orientation toward inspired giving, including proactive outreach, counsel, and service that incorporates the Foundation’s commitment to a more vibrant, equitable region.

§  Provide support for and represent Philanthropic Services at Foundation events and activities.

§  Support and be an active participant in Foundation efforts to improve systems and services.

§  Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills:

§  Commitment to racial equity and continuous learning about bias, systemic racism, and the impact of oppression on the vitality of the region.  A demonstrated ability to weave equitable considerations and opportunities into educational and grantmaking conversations a plus.

§  Demonstrated understanding of and experience with the basics of charitable giving and related tax implications.

§  Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and computer proficiency with Microsoft Office products.  Proven facility with relational databases, CRMs, or similar software.

§  Commitment to accurate documentation of grant details with an understanding of and dedication to the personalization that differentiates the Community Foundation’s service from its commercially related peers.

§  Demonstrated ability to build credibility and long-term service relationships with high net worth individuals, professional advisors, and the staff who support them.

§  A commitment to and proven ability to meet deadlines and maintain a complex load of commitments to fulfill high volume, detail rich grant processing and Fund Advisor relationships.

§  A bachelor’s degree and proven record of service to others.

§  High energy, cross-functional, and detail-oriented approach to working in a team driven organization committed to community.

§  Must be able to remain in a sitting stationary position for an extended period of time; climb one flight of stairs; stand, reach, and stoop while filing, copying, and storing supplies; lift up to 15 pounds.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range is $55,000 to $60,000 and will be negotiated based on experience, qualifications, and record of achievement. Candidate salary history will not be requested nor referenced in negotiating salary. Health, dental, and additional benefits are available.

Hours

37.5-hour work week. Office hours are 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM. The Foundation offers flexible time options for its full-time employees in good standing, after 3 months of satisfactory employment.

COVID-19 Related Operations

The St. Louis Community Foundation will be returning on June 1, 2021 to employee only operations at our headquarters located at #2 Oak Knoll Park.  Applicants are highly encouraged to be COVID-19 vaccinated.
