Missouri Colleges Fund

The Missouri Colleges Fund (MCF) is seeking a dynamic, strategic fundraiser to execute the goals and vision of the organization.

The President will serve as the leader and public spokesperson of the MCF. The President reports directly to the MCF Board works collaboratively to implement the fundraising strategy and oversee the operational activities of the Fund including the receipts, accounting, auditing, distribution and payments from the collection and operations of the fund. The President will oversee the financial status of the organization including developing long and short-range financial plans, monitoring the budget and ensuring sound financial controls are in place; set financial priorities to ensure the organization is operating in a manner that supports the needs of the membership.

Missouri Colleges Fund

The Mission of the MCF is to acquire resources to help educate students in member private four-year liberal-arts colleges and universities. MCF is a leader in connecting institutions to partners to promote financial support for scholarships.

MCF member institutions educate more than 85,000 students each year; enroll 41% of the state’s undergraduate students, yet produce 65% of college graduates while receiving just 3.5% state student financial aid funds; award more bachelor’s degrees to minorities and first-generation students; and serve a greater percentage of low-income students than public institutions.

Strategic vision and leadership

·       Collaborate with the Board of Directors to refine and implement a strategic plan while ensuring that the budget, staff and priorities are aligned with MCF’s core mission.

·       Responsible for planning, organization, and direction of MCF fundraising operations and programs.

·       Implement major gift plan, coordinate regional campaigns, maintain relationships with Board of Directors and major donors to the Fund

·       Provide inspirational leadership and direction, and ensure the continued development and management of a professional and efficient organization

·       Develops and maintains relationships and contact with current donors and prospects.

·       Plan annual meetings of the Board of Directors and Executive Committee.

·       Prepare and oversee compilation and distribution of MCF Annual Report.

·       Identify candidates for business board membership

·       Cultivate a strong and transparent working relationship with the Board and ensure open communication about the measurement of financial, programmatic, and impact performance against stated milestones and goals.

·       Serve as a representative to the Council of Independent Colleges and attend annual meeting of State Councils.

·       Arrange and prepare for annual audit.

The Board will work with the qualified candidate on office space, virtual work options and operational support. A comprehensive, competitive compensation package will be provided.

Qualifications

·       Minimum of a BA degree or equivalent, ideally with an MBA, MPA, or related advanced degree

·       At least 5 years of overall professional experience in non-profit fundraising and higher education

·       Significant board development, fundraising, marketing/branding and fiscal management experience

·       Demonstrated leadership and management ability with outstanding presentation skills. Ability to be an outgoing spokesperson, relationship builder and fundraiser

·       Excellent coalition building skills with ability to communicate and work effectively with a variety of internal and external stakeholders
