Central Reform Congregation

Central Reform Congregation (CRC) is a vibrant, urban Jewish community dedicated to supporting one another in holy ways, pursuing justice, and life long learning.

The purpose and objective for the Operations Manager is to assist the volunteer leadership, clergy and staff in fulfilling CRC’s administrative and building management needs.  The applicant must be a talented and ambitious individual who will support the administrative and building teams by supervising the administrative, facility, and special project areas, and with other essential tasks as assigned.  This role is focused on strategic and operational efficiency.

Overall Responsibilities:

Administration

  • Responsible for day-to-day operations of the office
    • Ordering and maintaining inventory of office supplies
    • Oversee office equipment (e.g. copiers, postage, telephones)
    • Reviews all health, safety and security procedures for improvement
    • Supervises administrative staff and office volunteers as assigned
  • Responsible for logistical support for worship services, life-cycle events, school sessions, and other programs
    • Scheduling and coordinating service volunteers (e.g. ushers, speakers)
    • Scheduling and coordinating life-cycle services and receptions (e.g. B’nai Mitzvah, weddings)
  • Responsible for maintenance of the master calendar
  • Serve as the computer network administrator in coordination with contracted professionals (e.g. Salesforce, GSuite, Quickbooks)
  • Responsible for special events and programs as requested

Facilities

  • Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the facilities
    • Manage and budget the routine maintenance, repairs, and janitorial needs
    • Scheduling and knowledge of all required preventative maintenance on building systems
    • Develop, implement, and track facilities budget in collaboration with the Executive Director and Accounting Dept.
  • Oversee Plant and Assets
    • Oversee and project-manage all capital improvements and purchasing
    • Create and maintain professional relationships with vendors in the community and the congregation
    • Serve as the staff expert on plant and assets, providing thorough and detailed recommendations to relevant committees for project approval
    • Secure and maintain CRC’s spiritual artifacts
    • Provide property management for the Next Dor facility
    • Advise on capital equipment purchasing

Security

  • Serve as liaison with Jewish Federation regarding local and national security alerts, and work in conjunction with the Director of Communications to implement the crisis management plan and RAVE system when applicable.
  • Manage CRC security and emergency response infrastructure, and related vendor relationships
  • Recommend, negotiate, and project-manage needed improvements to security systems
  • Maintain and update CRC’s Security Manual

Human Resources

  • Recruits, hires, trains, supervises, and evaluates administrative and custodial personnel
  • Develops job descriptions
  • Oversees adherence to personnel policies

Education, Experience, Knowledge, Technical and Physical Requirements

1.       Bachelor’s Degree

2.       A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in office administration and/or facility management

3.       Attention to detail in written and oral communication

4.       Strong Computer Software skills (Excel, Sales Force, Google Suite, etc.)

5.       Knowledge of CRC Personnel Policies

6.       Ability to safely and successfully perform essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local government standards, including meeting qualitative and quantitative productivity standards

7.       Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 pounds

8.       Must be able to walk, talk, listen, and speak clearly in person and on the phone

9.       Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with prolonged periods in front of a computer screen
