The position is in person, full-time, exempt and has limited supervisory and budgetary authority.

Job Summary

The Director of Facilities is responsible for the maintenance, cleanliness, and security of CRC’s properties, overseeing facilities staff, maintaining productive vendor relationships and planning for the long-term needs of the congregation as it relates to their position.

Building Management

  • Oversee Property and Assets
  • Knowledge and scheduling of all required preventative maintenance on building systems
  • Serve as the staff expert on building and assets, providing thorough and detailed recommendations to relevant committees for project approval
  • Provide property management for the Next Dor facility
  • Manage grounds
  • Serve as staff leader and manager of CRC’s Mitzvah garden

Safety and Security

  • Review all health, safety and security procedures for improvement
  • Serve as liaison with Jewish Federation regarding local and national security alerts, and work in conjunction with the Director of Communications to implement the crisis management plan and RAVE system when applicable.
  • Manage CRC security and emergency response infrastructure, and related vendor relationships
  • Maintain and update CRC’s Security Manual

Facility Operations

  • Responsible for cleanliness of building and janitorial staff
  • Responsible for the day-to-day operations and maintenance of the facilities
  • Manage and budget the routine maintenance, repairs, and janitorial needs
  • Responsible for logistical and set up support for all programs on the property, to include worship services, life-cycle events, school sessions, etc.
  • Responsible for rentals of items offered by CRC
  • Responsible for overseeing the operation of the Tikkun Closet
  • Secure and maintain CRC’s spiritual artifacts

Staff Management

  • Lead and manage staff members in the Facilities Department
  • Schedule facilities staff according to operational needs
  • Provide regular feedback and yearly performance reviews to facilities staff
  • Manage the ongoing staffing needs of the Facilities Department

Project Management

  • Oversee and project-manage all capital improvements and purchasing
  • Recommend, negotiate, and project-manage needed improvements to security systems

Vendor Management

  • Create and maintain professional relationships with vendors in the community and the congregation
  • Serves as main point of contact for all vendors related to the facility, to include HVAC, alarm and fire systems, landscaping, phone, internet, Tech support, copier maintenance, security, etc.

Financial Oversight

  • Manage, review, and submit payroll for employees in Facilities Department
  • Develop, implement, and track facilities budget in collaboration with the Executive Director and Accounting Dept.
