Position Summary

The Associate Accountant (Accounts Receivable) is responsible for full cycle accounts receivable: generate invoices, record payments to accounts, handle cash receipts and maintain accounts receivable records by performing the essential functions.

Essential Functions

  • Accounts Receivable: Process daily cash deposits electronically and manually. Apply cash receipts in the accounts receivable ledger by customer. Create and mail invoices. Process daily credit card transactions. Research and process cancellations in multiple software. Process incoming purchase orders. Assist with related special projects, as required.
  • Customer Service: Answer all accounts receivable inquiries in a timely manner and follow up. Call and/or mail correspondence to customers, as necessary, for collections on past-due accounts.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required.
  • Proficiency in Spanish a plus.

Experience

  • 1-3 years related experience.
  • MIP fund accounting and Aptify experience a plus.

Knowledge

  • Proficiency of computer and typing.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft programs.

Skills

  • Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have: ability to operate a computer, input and access data from data management systems, and ability to operate within Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Office 365.
  • Language Skills:. Ability to read and write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions in practical solutions.
  • Reasoning Ability
    Ability to function independently where appropriate but to recognize when issues escalate and need to be referred to other resources.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, and establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
