St. Louis ArtWorks

Job Status:  (part-time, 30 hours/week)

St. Louis ArtWorks (SLAW) is a small nonprofit arts organization that works with teens from the St. Louis metropolitan area. The mission of St. Louis ArtWorks is to broaden educational and career opportunities for youth in the St. Louis region through apprenticeships in the arts and through community collaborations.

Areas of Responsibility

  • Maintain all financial records, including invoicing grantors, creating client contracts and other invoices
  • Manage payroll functions for staff and program apprentices.
  • Collaborate on creation of annual budget as well as project specific budgets and plans
  • Provide to treasurer and accountant six week update of cash flow and accounts receivable review for board meetings
  • Keep track of fabrication expenses/cost of goods sold for AWE commissions
  • Keep track of Youth Opportunity Tax credit applications, reports and bookkeeping
  • Maintain effective systems and procedures to ensure day-to-day fiscal management
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications, QuickBooks
  • General Office Support and Work
  • Manage all contributions including online
  • Ensure effective and timely donor communication
  • Maintain organizational database of donors, mailings
  • Maintain relationships with staff and vendors
  • Organize and maintain efficient and orderly records and files
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Experience in office and financial management, demonstrated organizational and time management
  • Minimum of one year of experience using QuickBooks
  • Ability to represent SLAW professionally and to provide high-quality customer service
  • Ability to work flexible hours, as needed

  • Nonprofit bookkeeping and QuickBooks skills, Excel, Microsoft

  • Understanding of the nonprofit sector, its issues and challenges, and its finance models
  • Nonprofit bookkeeping standards and practices and financial models
  • Proficient with using computers
