The Little Bit Foundation is seeking a full-time Program Coordinator. Little Bit has a dynamic staff who are passionate about serving under-resourced students in St. Louis. As part of the Programs Team, the Program Coordinator will play a critical role in furthering the mission of The Little Bit Foundation to make St. Louis a better place to live, work, and play.
The Organization: The Little Bit Foundation was founded in 2001 and is dedicated to breaking down barriers to learning for under-resourced students in the St. Louis area by providing for their basic needs, along with full wraparound services and academic support. We serve 17,000 students in 54 partner schools across the region. In every school, Little Bit provides programs and partnerships that support district and school performance goals and address the needs of the whole child. We do this by working one-on-one with each student to support his or her personal care, classroom preparedness, health and wellness, academic enrichment, and college and career readiness. The results are positive personal growth and increased self-esteem in students impacted by poverty, with the ultimate goal to help students be successful in the classroom to reach their full potential.
Responsibilities:
This role is responsible for the on-site management of days of service for Little Bit programs at their assigned schools. These days of service include boutique days, literacy programs, and health and wellness programs. The Program Coordinator is responsible for supporting the program Manager and Program Director with day-to-day program needs.
Program Implementation:
- Assist in oversight of each schools’ boutique day
- Work to ensure each student’s needs are met in a manner consistent with Little Bit’s mission and Partnership Agreement with each school
- Provide day-of management and continuity of all established core, health and wellness, and literacy programs
- Implement programs on days of service at each school
- Implement and ensure quality standards of each program
- Complete thorough head-to-toe core needs assessments at each day of service
- Work with the Senior Program Managers to develop a program calendar for the year
- Support Senior Program Managers in coordinating days of service between schools, Little Bit, and any service providers, as needed
- Support school liaisons and nurses to ensure all students’ needs are met according to Little Bit’s mission and vision
- Meet and communicate with school liaisons and nurses to coordinate all services
- Develop realistic implementation plans and communicate changes effectively
- Respond promptly to children’s needs and school requests for assistance/service
- Work with Senior Program Managers to identify times and ways to further embed LittleBit’s model and services into each partner school Program Evaluation and Development
- Complete tracking and days of service reports for each day of service to ensure qualityand fidelity
- Perform follow-up duties for surveys and health and wellness days of service
- Participate in new volunteer, liaison, and school staff training
Additional Functions: - Provide necessary support for events and efforts of The Little Bit Foundation
- Support all aspects of the Little Bit team
- Act as a brand ambassador to support the well-being of the whole child
- Ability to remain caring but objective while focusing on needs of children served
- Understand and be able to communicate Little Bit’s strengths and mission
- Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
- Develop alternate solutions and work well in group problem-solving situations
- Be creative and dynamic in program discussions and continued development
- Able to build morale and group commitments to goals and objectives
- Mobilize others to fulfill Little Bit’s vision
- Continually examine strategies to achieve Little Bit’s goals
- Report unsafe conditions immediately to Little Bit’s Executive Director
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree, minimum
Special Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience working with all social and economic cultures
- Proven track record in planning, time-management, and organization
- Demonstrated excellence in management and communication skills
- Excellent writing skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects and
deadlines - Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Experience working with and training volunteers
- Able to attend meetings and events outside of regular work hours
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
