About the Office
The Office of Violence Prevention (OVP) is a division of the City of St. Louis created in July 2022 whose purpose is to act as a coordinating body for the City’s efforts to create safe and healthy neighborhoods free of violence. The office works with community-based organizations, government bodies, and healthcare systems on a public health approach to addressing violence. OVP coordinates partners and provides strategic direction and oversight for various citywide Community Violence Intervention (CVI) initiatives. About the Role
The Program Coordinator is responsible for cultivate and managing OVP’s relationships with multiple stakeholders in the City of St. Louis and across the region. Duties include event planning, relationship building, partnership development and maintenance, and content development.
Minimum Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Public Relations, Public Administration, Public Health or a closely related field; two years of community engagement experience including 1 year event planning experience.
· Bi lingual language skills preferred
Key Responsibilities
· Establish and maintain relationships with public and private organizations, non-profits, local communities, and residents
· Design, plan, and coordinate OVP events
· Assist the Public Information Officer in the development and implementation of OVP’s communications strategy
· Support public reporting and program evaluation efforts, as needed.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills
· Experience with Event planning
· Familiarity with social media platforms and social media marketing Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
· Strong organization and project management skills, as well as strong attention to detail.
· A self-starter who can complete tasks and drive performance with minimal oversight.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Strong time management skills.
· Experience with community development or economic development
· Experience with Salesforce
· Experience with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace suites (including Gmail, Drive, and Sheets)
· Experience with Adobe Suite
Salary Range: $44,278 – $69,212
