DANCE ST. LOUIS

PART-TIME BOX OFFICE AND ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT   

Dance St. Louis has been a trailblazer in the Midwest Region presenting professional dance from across the globe that has embodied the St. Louis arts and cultural experience for nearly six decades. Whether in the role as dance presenter, producer, collaborative partner or educator, Dance St. Louis exemplifies artistic excellence. As one of only four remaining dance-only nonprofit presenters in America, Dance St. Louis is recognized as a national and international dance leader. Our historical partnerships with world-renowned artists have brought dance to life for our city and has catapulted Dance St. Louis as the Midwest region’s GATEWAY TO WORLD DANCE.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

Box Office Operations

·         Participate in box office operations including subscription processing, group and single ticket sales, printing and mailing tickets.

·         Respond to patron phone calls and emails in a timely and professional manner.

·         Manage master list of subscribers in excel and other ticket buyer lists.

·         Other duties as assigned.

Administration

·         Distribute mail to team members.

·         Charge all credit card payments associated with tickets and donations.

·         Produce donor acknowledgement letters and envelopes.

·         Produce documents for all deposits in support of bookkeeping.

·         Maintain record files and order office supplies.

·         Support ad hoc data entry/database projects as needed.

·         Other duties as assigned.

Marketing

·         Coordinate (from start to finish) programs for each presentation.

·         Collaborate with dance companies to receive content and copy for performance programs.

·         Proofread drafts and final program to ensure accuracy, integrity, and quality.

·         Research prospects for group sales and support sales initiatives.

·         Assist with the planning and execution of social media campaigns to drive engagement.

·         Participate in gross roots marketing efforts (i.e. poster distribution).

·         Other duties as assigned.

Theater

·         Serve as administration liaison with theater regarding front-of-house operations, patron services, backstage and other show related logistics.

·         Work presentations both in Terrace Lobby and as-needed backstage.

·         Handle various logistics for Spring to Dance® Festival.

·         Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements include:

·         Experience in nonprofit administration.

·         High level of organization with attention to detail, analytical and ability to complete tasks on time.

·         Effective communication both orally and written, emotional intelligence, interpersonal skills.

Compensation and Work Schedule:

$20 an hour. 24 hours a week, flexible schedule. Must be available to attend performances and assist box office operations at theater.
