Job Summary:
The Advancement Manager of Annual Giving is a year-round position to oversee all facets of the AYF Annual Fund. In conjunction with the Vice President of Advancement, this position is responsible for organizing and managing annual giving activities which provide critical operating support to all areas of the organization.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Plan, develop and maintain a comprehensive annual giving program that includes personalized cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship for donors at all levels.
    Plan and execute a robust annual schedule of events and activities, including but not limited to participant and alumni class giving, digital fundraising, social media campaigns, phone-a-thons, direct mail, and annual fundraising events.
  • Manage donor relations to provide meaningful engagement, promote interaction and recognition of donors.
  • Work closely with AYF volunteers and staff from across the organization to achieve fundraising goals and further strengthen the messaging of the case for philanthropic support.
  • Work closely with the President and Vice Presidents to develop strategies to acquire new donors, increase donor retention, and elevate existing donors for the Annual Fund.
  • Oversee production of all annual giving materials in collaboration with Communications Manager and Vice President of Advancement.
  • Budget for yearly annual giving and fundraising activities.
  • Manage and analyze donor data to identify trends, track engagement, assess strategies, and prepare reports.
  • Promote the American Youth Foundation locally, regionally and nationally, serving as key contact with donors, alumni, volunteers, and community partners.
  • Travel periodically to work onsite at Miniwanca in Shelby, Michigan and Merrowvista in New Hampshire to meet with colleagues, alumni, donors, and funding partners.
  • Ensure compliance in ethical and legal standards for fundraising.
  • Pursue professional development opportunities to stay current with new trends and best practices.

Skills and Qualifications:
Required:

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office with aptitude and demonstrated skills in word processing, spreadsheet, data management applications, and computer and database skills.

  • Follow all guidelines and policies as described in the AYF (American Youth Foundation) employee handbook.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
    Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in annual giving, alumni relations, sales, or other externally related field.
  • Experience working with Raisers Edge and/or other client databases preferred.
    CFRE (Certified Fund-Raising Executive) preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Work Environment:
●      Varied settings including work from home and onsite at Miniwanca and Merrowvista.
●      Some weekend and evening work required, including holidays during peak giving seasons.
●      Travel as needed for meetings, recruitment, and site visits.
●      Flexibility to live in a variety of environments (camp, hotels, guest accommodations)
●      Business casual, appropriate attire for setting
●      Hours as required to meet job demands, generally Monday through Friday 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.

Compensation:
·       Salary: $60,000
