LaunchCode

The Senior Grants Officer at LaunchCode will work cross-departmentally to research funding opportunities, develop grant proposals, and manage all aspects of the grant application, reporting, and stewardship processes for assigned funders and initiatives. This role works with the Head of Donor & Alumni Relations and the Donor & Alumni Relations Officer to meet an annual fundraising goal of $2 – $2.5 million, all in support of LaunchCode’s innovative tech training, career preparation and job placement programs.

This is a full-time, salaried position reporting directly to the Head of Donor & Alumni Relations, and requires 5% travel time. The budgeted base compensation range for this position is between $60,000 – $70,000. This is a hybrid position working both in-person at our St. Louis office and remote, with a schedule that may adjust for personal or family responsibilities and honor a work-life balance.

Role Responsibilities

  • Grant Proposals: Write compelling grant proposals for LaunchCode’s core programs and new initiatives, securing financial support and new strategic partnerships.
  • Track Outcomes: Collaborate with other departments to document program progress, outcomes, lessons learned, and any changes to grant deliverables.
  • Grant Reports: Produce detailed grant reports that accurately reflect the impact of LaunchCode’s work and continue to foster strong relationships with grant partners.
  • Data Analysis: Utilize tools such as Holistics and LaunchCode’s internal applicant database to obtain accurate data and projections for grant proposals and reports.
  • Research and Planning: Develop and manage the annual grant calendar, conduct grant prospect research, perform academic research for problem statements, and collect alumni success stories for use in future grants and materials.
  • Gratitude & Acknowledgement: Maintain regular communication with current and prospective grant partners, express gratitude, and manage public recognition through various channels like the website, social media, and donor wall.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • A deep commitment to our mission and values, and a passion for transforming the technology and workforce development/education sectors.
  • Have four to five years of related experience. Must have a proven track record in securing and managing private and corporate foundation funding of around $750,000 annually.
  • Possesses excellent written communication, persuasion, research and closing skills.
  • Is well-organized and has excellent project-management skills. Confidence working in Google Workspace applications and experience working with donor databases.
  • A high-energy, focused, self-starter. Consistently meets deadlines, while working well with others on the team.
  • Experience taking a leadership role across departments to facilitate processes to collect outcome data.

Direct experience working with local, state and federal government grants
Proficiency using Salesforce or Hubspot
