Position Summary: Would you like to make a difference and help non-profit organizations evaluate, enhance, and implement impactful programs? Do you love research and data analytics and have a passion for transforming plans into real results through driving successful outcomes?
ACS is looking for a Program Operations Consultant who will work closely with our partner organizations to develop evaluation plans, collect and analyze data, and produce reports that provide actionable recommendations for program enhancement. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert guidance across multiple programs, ensuring that operations are efficient, effective, and aligned with the organization’s goals. The Program Operations Consultant will work closely with our clients to identify areas of improvement, develop and implement new processes, and monitor progress against key performance indicators.
The ideal candidate will have strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills, as well as an enthusiasm for making a positive impact in the nonprofit and education sector. We are looking for an experienced professional with the ability to plan and lead a project from start to finish, tackle challenges with ingenuity, research best practices to quickly become the subject matter expert, and is self-motivated and passionate about helping others.
Full-time Exempt Position Reports To: Vice President, Executive Director of Allsup Charitable Services (ACS)
Location: Belleville, IL – Remote/Work from Home ~70%, ~30% travel to Client Organization Sites (East St. Louis, Illinois) or ACS HQ (300 Allsup Place, Belleville, IL).
Responsibilities:
Program Operations Consulting
- Works closely with the Director – Strategic Initiatives and Program Operations to initiate and lead programs, reports, and projects directly related to our organizations’ programs and impact.
- Designs and implements program evaluation plans, including the development of evaluation questions, data collection methods, and analysis techniques.
- Collects and analyzes data using quantitative and qualitative methods, including surveys, focus groups, interviews, and program data.
- Collaborates with stakeholders to ensure that evaluation findings are used to inform program improvement.
- Produces clear and concise reports that communicate evaluation findings, conclusions, and recommendations to a variety of audiences.
- Conducts regular assessments of client program operations to identify areas of improvement, develop solutions to address them, and present recommendations.
- Collaborates with clients to develop and implement new processes and standard operating procedures to optimize program performance.
- Monitors program performance against key performance indicators (KPIs) and develops reports to communicate results to our clients’ stakeholders.
- Develops, recommends, and implements data-driven strategies and creates visualizations or dashboards to communicate insights to stakeholders.
- Develops and maintains relationships with key stakeholders across our partner organizations to ensure alignment and effective communication.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, tools, resources, and best practices related to non-profit program evaluation and operations, and share knowledge and expertise with clients.
Coaching
- Meets with assigned leadership or employees to set and achieve professional and organizational goals.
- Works with clients to maximize performance and increase skills in the workplace by providing actionable guidance, advice, resources, and support.
- Helps new leaders adapt to their roles.
Allsup Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) Operations
- Responsible for assigned projects or tasks related to delivery of the Allsup Tuition Assistance Program.
- Support development of program budget and estimated student projections.
- Build and cultivate network of partnerships for TAP, including private schools and community organizations.
- Engage and collaborate with partners, schools, families and students to support student success.
- Conduct outreach to retain and recruit families and students for the program.
- Conduct enrollment activities and work with families through the application process.
- Support process for tuition and fees payments to partner schools.
- Monitor and evaluate the Tuition Assistance Program to track student academic progress, collect feedback to evaluate the program and analyze data to assess impact.
Project Management
- Conducts discovery sessions to learn more about the organization’s vision for the project, goals and objectives, timelines, ownership, and risks.
- Conducts comprehensive research related to the project, organization, industry best practices, effective planning, and strategic approaches.
- Designs and proposes detailed projects and action plans.
- Meets with client organizations to ensure continued progress and execution of action plans.
- Creates a plan to communicate new objectives and processes focused on engaging the clients’ staff and managing change.
- Develops presentations, training, processes, and other deliverable structures related to each project.
- Conducts or assists with training and implementation to the organization’s staff as needed to ensure success of the project.
- Supports and monitors completed projects with commitment to adjust or enhance results from routine project evaluations.
- Uses Wrike Project Management software for project and task planning, management, and reporting.
Events
- Assists in planning ACS and Organization sponsored events as needed.
- May be asked to work evenings or weekends occasionally to be present at ACS or Organization events.
Other
- Performs miscellaneous jobs, projects or related duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field (Non-profit Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, Data Analytics, etc.) and/or equivalent education and experience required.
- 1-3 years of proven experience with program evaluations, operational management, or data analytics in a variety of settings, including non-profit organizations, government agencies, and/or educational institutions preferred.
- Experience in educational administration and curriculum assessment at the elementary level a plus.
- Program Management Professional (PgMP), Project Management Professional (PMP), Six Sigma, Certified Management Consultant or equivalent certification or credential is a plus.
Knowledge / Skill Requirements:
- Knowledge in any of the following areas a plus: Leadership, Communications, Strategic Planning, Non-profit Management, Volunteer Management, Board of Directors, Organizational Planning, Change Management, HR, etc.
- Strong knowledge of program evaluation methodology and best practices.
- Requires an analytical approach with excellent data collection and analysis skills.
- Proficiency in data analytic tools and experience in client database software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate and present complex information in a clear and concise manner.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to develop, train, and implement projects and deliverables to teams of various sizes.
- Possesses critical thinking, ingenuity, problem-solving, creativity, and passion.
- Ability to work as part of a team but is self-motivated and requires little direction.
- Possesses and delivers professional products of a high standard for quality.
- Exhibits intermediate to advanced skills in Office 365, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Outlook, and Teams required.
- Working knowledge of Project Management Software, a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Requires substantial time sitting and typing using a computer with a mouse.
- Requires occasional walking, standing, bending, reaching, and carrying.
- May require occasional lifting, lowering, pushing, or pulling up to 20 lbs.
