Incarnate Word Academy
Incarnate Word Academy is a college preparatory high school that strives to challenge young women of faith to achieve their God-given potential academically, physically, spiritually and emotionally, thereby empowering themselves and others to make a positive impact on our world. The school is a sponsored ministry of the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word.
Essential Functions:
The Advancement Assistant is responsible for all facets of information management in the Office of Advancement, primarily through maintenance of the Raiser’s Edge NXT database. Assists with other administrative duties. Reporting directly to the Director of Advancement, this part-time position plays a vital role in IWA’s advancement operations.
Duties:
Works with the Director of Advancement to maintain IWA’s Raiser’s Edge NXT database while adhering to the highest levels of professional conduct and confidentiality.
Assists with donor relations by helping to build mutually beneficial connections between IWA and its constituents.
Generates accurate and timely financial reports.
Processes all gifts and prepares acknowledgement letters and other correspondence.
Provides general administrative and event support.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a liberal arts or business field preferred with related work experience in database management, specifically Raiser’s Edge NXT.
Demonstrated enthusiasm for IWA’s mission.
Proven ability to multitask with a very high level of attention to detail and output in a fast-paced environment.
Proven ability to work effectively and professionally with all levels of internal and external clients.
Ability to establish effective working relationships with co-workers and volunteers to accomplish objectives successfully.
Ability to work in an environment that embraces a diverse community of students, employees, parents, and alumnae.
Strong proficiency in a variety of computer software applications, including: Google suite of programs, Microsoft Office, donor databases (preferably Raiser’s Edge NXT) presentation software, email, and social media platforms.
Proven ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Self-starter with the ability to create and follow through with an annual plan.
High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations.
Other Information:
A criminal history and background check are required and must be completed successfully.
Generally works in standard office conditions and climate.
Occasional flexibility to work outside of normal business hours, including evenings and weekends.
May work at a desk and computer for extended periods of time.
