Job Title:  Operations Manager
Reports to:  Chief Executive Officer

About the job
The Operations Manager will lead and oversee areas of Human Resources and Operations/Facilities by performing the essential functions in the areas listed below.  This job requires daily on-site attendance.

Human Resources (HR)
*Establish priorities and develops plans for the HR department
*Serve as resource for employees on matters relating to the PSRS/PEERS
*Review, investigate and propose resolutions to employee complaints, grievances, and harassment   claims
*Supervise and evaluate staff
*Develop employee handbook and policy recommendations
*Develop, organize and conduct employee onboarding
*Organize and administer employee evaluation, including maintenance of online evaluation system
*Develop and maintain job descriptions
*Maintain organization’s compliance with state and federal laws and regulations
*Conduct wage surveys

*Manage benefits open enrollment process

*Provide leadership for Equity Team

*Serve on wellness team

*Manage the hiring process including creating requisitions in HRIS system, posting positions, consulting with hiring managers, making offers, entering background checks, running I9s, and conducting onboarding meetings.

*Troubleshoot issues with HRIS system

*Complete employment verifications

*Act as liaison to MOASPA-STL group, including attending monthly meetings and facilitating communication

*Act as liaison to CSD Insurance Trust, including attending periodic meetings

*Assign annual Mandatory Training

*Manage workmen’s comp process

*Manage FMLA process for employees, including updating policies and procedures as necessary

*Lead CEO evaluation process, in conjunction with the EducationPlus Board

*Facilitate the ADA/accommodations process

*Other duties as assigned

Operations/Facilities
*Develop facility maintenance and cleanliness standards
*Identify and plan for maintenance of building and grounds to provide a safe environment

*Manage renovation projects
*Develop budget for projects and maintenance

*Develop and implement facilities master plan

*Supervise Custodial and Maintenance Technician

*Address facilities issues as they occur which may include soliciting quotes and entering into agreements with contractors

*Occasionally perform routine custodial duties such as removing trash and stocking restrooms with supplies

*Other duties as assigned

*Possess basic knowledge of building systems (e.g.-plumbing, electrical, structural)

Required Education/Experience/Certifications  
*Bachelor’s degree in business administration, or advanced degree in Educational Leadership

*HR experience
*Supervisory experience

*Experience with overseeing building custodial/maintenance and construction/renovation projects

Physical Demands
Lifting, carrying, and sitting and/or standing for extended periods.  Excellent dexterity, ability to perform repetitive motions;  operate telephone, computer, presentation equipment. Lift and transport materials weighing up to 50 lbs. Exerts up to 20 lbs of force occasionally and/or exerts up to 10 lbs of force and a negligible amount of force constantly.

Office & school environment.

Equipment
Standard office equipment, including but not limited to computer/laptop and associated software, copy machine, printers, scanners, facsimile machines, and presentation equipment such as interactive whiteboards, overhead projectors, projectors, screens, etc.

Travel 
The means to travel within the St. Louis on a regular basis. Ability to attend local, state and national evening and/or weekend conferences, tradeshows, meetings and other events.

Work Hours
8:00-4:30 Mon-Fri, unless determined otherwise. Some evening or weekend work may be required.
