About the Office
The Office of Violence Prevention (OVP) is a division of the City of St. Louis created in July 2022 whose purpose is to act as a coordinating body for the City’s efforts to create safe and healthy neighborhoods free of violence. The office works with community-based organizations, government bodies, and healthcare systems on a public health approach to addressing violence. OVP coordinates partners and provides strategic direction and oversight for various citywide Community Violence Intervention (CVI) initiatives. About the Role
The Executive Assistant II assist the Commissioner of the Office of Violence with developing strategy, planning and managing the day-to-day operations. The position provides multi-faceted administrative support and assistance to the Commissioner to ensure the office operates effectively. The Executive Assistant II will also develop strategic relationships with other governmental and non-governmental entities.
Minimum Qualifications
● Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Public Policy, Social Work, Criminal Justice, Sociology or related field; plus four years of experience management role with direct reports including at least 3 years working in a Public Safety environment advising upper level management on management and policy issues; and handling financial and budgetary issues.
Desirable Qualifications
● Master’s degree is highly preferred.
● Experience using data to implement decisions.
● Two years’ experience with budgeting, strategic planning, policy analysis, and project management.
Key Responsibilities
● Assist the director in developing, planning, directing, and implementing strategies, programs, policies, and procedures.
● Plan, organize, assign, direct, review, and evaluate the work activities of subordinate staff to realize the OVP’s goals.
● Assist in creating and assessing performance benchmarks.
● Develop and provide regular reports to the director and other stakeholders regarding OVP and its programs.
● Manage all aspects of the staff hiring process.
● Manage external evaluations of the office and its programs by academic partners.
● Attend and participate in a variety of governmental and other meetings regarding OVP matters.
● Performs other duties as assigned.

· Strong organization and project management skills, as well as strong attention to detail.
· A self-starter who can complete tasks and drive performance with minimal oversight.
· Knowledge of data analysis, reporting and budgeting.
· Strong leadership and problem-solving skills
· Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Experience with Salesforce
· Strong time management skills.
· Experience with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace suites (including Gmail, Drive, and Sheets) is preferred.
Salary Range: $66,794 – $104,702
