Position: Serving Neighbors Coordinator*
Overview:
Christ Church (Episcopal) Cathedral (CCC) located in downtown St Louis is embarking on a strategic visioning plan and is looking for motivated individuals (missioners) to assist in its implementation. This is a part-time position and includes a $10,000 annual stipend. The Strategic Vision has identified three missioners’ areas of focus: Advocacy, Formation and Diocesan Collaboration, and Serving Neighbors Coordinator*. The primary role of these missioners is to work with CCC members to achieve the goals outlined in the plan. They will meet monthly to report and evaluate the progress on and efficacy of the vision’s deliverables.
Job Description:
Goal: Connect the Christ Church Cathedral community and its neighbors to CCC’s mission, ministries, and formation opportunities.
Job Responsibilities:
Offer programming that includes:
· Develop relationships with CCC neighbors, including vulnerable populations and their needs
· Create a strategy on how to best utilize the city block that the Cathedral occupies
· Create a LGBTQIA+ ministry
· Create a ministry to support CCC’s senior neighbors
· Create communication strategies to inform the neighborhood about CCC’s outreach activities
· Coordinate 1-2 Cathedral events that show CCC visibly engaged in the community
· Solicitation, recruitment and management of volunteers
· Use local media, CCC’s website and social media to promote events.
· Schedule docent led Cathedral tours
This missioner will work with the Lead Missioner to achieve all goals and provide feedback and reports as needed.
Requirements:
• Proven experience in developing and managing programs, leadership capabilities, managing expectations, expertise in social media platforms, such as Facebook, X, Tik Tok, excellent writing and communication skills, expertise in Microsoft 365, experience in media networking, and coordination
