EMD Consulting is proud to partner with FamilyForward in their search for a Chief Development Officer (CDO). FamilyForward provides therapeutic and educational services through a trauma-informed approach, supporting biological, foster, and adoptive families across the St. Louis region.
FamilyForward is seeking a dynamic CDO to collaborate closely with Executive Director Karen Nolte, the senior leadership team, a dedicated development team of 10, a passionate Board of Directors, and other key stakeholders. The ideal candidate will be a relationship builder, strategic thinker, and experienced gift officer with a track record of leading staff and guiding boards toward ambitious goals. This leader must demonstrate an understanding of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging in philanthropy, and have a strong commitment to putting these values into practice.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement fundraising strategies to exceed revenue goals
- Build and nurture relationships with diverse donors and stakeholders
- Oversee grant proposals and fundraising campaigns, including major gifts and planned giving
- Lead marketing and communications efforts to raise awareness and enhance the agency’s brand
- Serve as a key member of the executive team, providing strategic direction and compliance oversight
- Trust and develop a development team of 10
- Manage up to a seasoned CEO excited to partner with her CDO on fundraising strategy and implementation
