Established in 2020, the mission of The Stork Foundation is to give hope and opportunity to those suffering from infertility and fighting for their dream of parenthood. The Stork Foundation provides financial assistance to low resource individuals who require costly medical infertility treatments that would otherwise be out of financial reach.

The Stork Foundation has awarded over $337,000, with 14 Stork babies born and more expected in 2024.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Stork Foundation is seeking a dynamic fundraising leader to take the organization to new heights. Currently the Stork Foundation is run and operated by the Board of Directors. At this critical moment the organization is looking to bring on a development leader to continue to grow the organization with their drive and a plan with the support of the Board of Directors.

The Foundation currently has an active board with an annual operating budget of approximately $95,000.

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Development Director is responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive fundraising strategy to meet aggressive annual and long-term fundraising goals. This includes maximizing current donor contribution and securing new financial support through fundraising campaigns, targeted donor engagement and creative partnerships. Above all, the Development Director should be a self starter and a highly effective leader with clear communications skills.

This position is part-time (20 hours a week, 1099 issue), fully remote and includes flexible working hours.

Responsibilities

·         In collaboration with the Board of Directors, develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy to meet aggressive annual and long-term fundraising goals.

·         Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward new donors to secure financial support and build long lasting relationships, with a specific focus on local small business and foundation outreach.

·         Assess the fundraising potential of The Stork Foundation through CRM giving history records, including segmentation of the current donor base and implementation of a strategic cycle of regular customized communications to maximize current donor contributions through increased engagement and support.

·         Work collaboratively with the Board of Directors to develop all targeted marketing collateral and external communications to various donor profiles, ensuring solicitation messaging aligns with broader marketing channels as well as the needs/preferences of the specific donor segment.

·         Identify partners who support/align with our mission; explore and implement creative collaboration opportunities for passive income streams from partners, including ‘round up’ programs and percentage giveback on items purchased.

·         Institute metrics for measuring progress toward goals and produce regular fundraising reports to track funding.

·         Ensure accurate, timely action entry and reporting in Flipcause CRM database.

·         Support regional and national fundraising activities, including leveraging community giving days (Give STL, NIAW) and increasing awareness of employer match programming.

·         Increase awareness of our organization by being the main spokesperson and liaison with local media.

Skills and Qualifications

·         Education: Bachelor’s Degree, preferred.

·         Minimum of three years of professional fundraising experience. Preferably with a start up nonprofit organization.

·         History of securing and stewarding gifts ($10,000+)

·         Experience using donor databases

·         Adept at leveraging technology/AI to improve efficiencies.

·         Proven success working with a Board of Directors.

·         Entrepreneurial mindset, with the ability think strategically, set goals, and develop and execute fundraising plans.

·         Dynamic & charismatic team player who enjoys being the public face of an organization.

·         Experience in preparing and managing budgets
