Wings of Hope is a nonprofit, global humanitarian aviation organization headquartered in Chesterfield, MO. Our mission is to change and save lives through the power of aviation. We accomplish this through our three program areas: the Medical Relief & Air Transport (MAT) Program, our Global Humanitarian Network (GHN), and our SOAR into STEM (SiS) educational programs.
SUMMARY:
The Development Manager is responsible for grant management, event coordination and fundraising and relationship management activities, including working with the development team to create and implement the fundraising, development and communications strategies for Wings of Hope.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Supports the Director of Development and Communications with the day-to-day operations of the Development Department.
- Assist with the creation and implementation of the annual Development Plan that incorporates a range of strategies including but not limited to annual appeals, major donors, grants, and special events.
- Serve as the organization’s grant manager with responsibility to lead the research, relationship cultivation, production coordination, writing, delivery, and follow-along/up for all grants. Maintains a master grant and reporting calendar, ensuring all deadlines are met.
- Manages organization’s cultivation, stewardship and fundraising event operations, solicitation support, sponsor fulfillment and in-kind donation solicitation.
- Assist with the production and implementation of appeal campaigns and other fundraising communications and strategies.
- Assist with bi-annual airplane raffles.
- General development activities include donation coordination as well as communication and marketing support.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Three to five years of development experience
- Grant writing experience with proven track record of grant success
- Detail oriented with excellent time-management
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Exceptional written, oral and interpersonal communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to effectively manage multiple and concurrent projects
- Ability to work with a wide variety of volunteers
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, databases and social media technologies
- A passion for humanitarian work and Wings of Hope mission
COMPENSATION:
The Development Manager is a full-time (40 hours/week), on-site, salaried position reporting directly to the Director of Development and Communications. Employee benefits, including health, dental, and vision, are available. A generous vacation and time off policy is also offered. The salary range is $64,000- $70,000.
