Description of Organization: Rung for Women is looking for like-minded individuals to join our team of passionate and enthusiastic individuals who are committed to inspiring women to climb the economic ladder. Position Summary: This position promotes the long-term success of our members so that they achieve their thriving wage and financial goals and is responsible for cultivating relationships with alumni to promote their long-term success in the years after they complete Rung’s core program.  If you’re someone who enjoys the long game, uses data to make decisions, and is skilled at encouraging and facilitating the learning and development of mid-career level adults.

Since we haven’t worked out the specifics in terms of how we might adjust our long-term outcomes, should we be more general here and just say something like “in the years after they complete Rung’s core program.”

How you’ll help Rung achieve our vision: This position ensures that Rung delivers on its commitment to members’ long-term success by engaging their ongoing growth and development and tracking their success. The Alumni Relations Manager will also help steward and connect our network of alumni to ensure that Rung is supporting a powerful community of women making change in our community.

What you will do: Develop and manage an alumni relations strategy that will:

  • Curate opportunities for continuous professional development and networking opportunities for alumni, including:
    • Curate workshops and/or coordinate outside facilitators
    • Maintain relationships with members and assess ongoing professional support needed
    • Identify future training and engagement needs/opportunities
  • Focus on data collection from alumni base with a goal to maintain a 50% or higher response rate
    • Develop and manage data systems to track alumni engagement and outcomes
  • Develop relationships with members, inviting them to continue to engage with the Rung community
    • Communicate and collaborate with Rung team members to provide other services to alumni as needed (for example career center referrals)
    • Continue to hold alumni events and opportunities that cultivate lasting connections and community
    • Capture individual alumni “Rung Stories” that can be messaged and shared
  • Cultivate alumni relationships that develop into volunteer engagement and donors
    • Include strategies to engage alumni in annual giving
    • Include strategies to engage alumni in volunteer recruitment
    • Include strategies to engage alumni in donor events
    • Create and support alumni-centered communications tools such as newsletters, LinkedIn, social media, etc.
  • Ensure excellent service standards and maintain high customer satisfaction
  • Promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement that values learning and a commitment to quality
  • Work collaboratively to support the direction and goals of the Advancement Team.

What you need to bring us:

  • Passion for Rung’s vision & mission
  • Demonstrated experience in working with individuals from diverse backgrounds
  • Previous coaching, leading others, and job development experience
  • Previous experience in working with and managing data strategies
  • Comfortable speaking to groups and facilitating impactful training
  • Critical and creative thinking skills
  • Technical orientation
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office products
  • Familiarity and strong comfort with CRM systems (particularly Salesforce)
  • Ability to handle abstract concepts, systems, and ideas
  • Intellectual confidence
  • Ability to deliver high quality services
