Isaiah 58 Ministries is a community-based nonprofit organization located in South St. Louis dedicated to alleviating hunger and meeting basic human needs with dignity, compassion, and justice. Through programs like our food pantry, clothing room, Fresh Food Fridays, and community events, we serve thousands of individuals and families each year, empowering them to live with hope and stability.
Position Overview
The Development Manager position is a key part of the critical work of Isaiah 58 Ministries. This position requires a strategic, relationship-oriented fundraiser who plays a vital role in sustaining and growing philanthropic support for Isaiah 58 Ministries’ work.
This part-time position manages donor engagement, assists with grant writing, fundraising campaigns, and special events in partnership with the Executive Director and Board of Directors.
Key Responsibilities
Fundraising & Donor Development (50%)
Cultivate and steward relationships with individual donors, churches, community partners, and local businesses.
Manage donor database (currently using DonorDock) and generate regular acknowledgment letters.
Develop and implement annual giving campaigns and special appeals (e.g., Freedom from Hunger, Buy-A-Bird and our year-end giving).
Analyze donor trends and recommend strategies to increase donor retention and acquisition.
Grants Management (30%)
As needed, research grant opportunities from foundations, corporations, and public agencies.
Assist with grant proposals and reports in coordination with the Executive Director.
Maintain a grant calendar to track deadlines, reports, and submission timelines.
Special Events & Campaigns (15%)
Assist in planning and executing fundraising events, including donor receptions, awareness campaigns, and capital campaign events.
Support communication efforts related to fundraising, including newsletters, social media content, and website updates.
Administrative & Strategic Support (5%)
Work closely with the Executive Director and others to implement development strategies aligned with organizational goals.
Provide regular progress updates to the Executive Director and Development Committee.
Compensation: $25,000-$27,000
Qualifications
Commitment to the mission and values of Isaiah 58 Ministries.
Minimum 2 years of experience and demonstrated success in nonprofit development, fundraising and grants.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency with donor database systems, social media and Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Skills & Attributes
Familiarity with the St. Louis philanthropic community.
Creative, proactive, and self-directed.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Passion for social justice, community service, and hunger relief.
