PROGRAM COORDINATOR

Reports To:          Community Relations Director

Hours:                  avg/approx. 40 hours/week; Monday-Friday

Pay Range:           salaried; $45,000-$52,000 annual salary depending on experience

Available:             Onsite Position open immediately (not available for remote work)

Summary: As part of a larger team, this program specialist supports the independence of the older adult population in the area by assisting in efforts to coordinate programs and outreach efforts.

Skills/Qualifications:

·        Superior interpersonal, communication, organizational, analytical, and planning skills; professional manner required

·        3-5 years proven relevant work experience required

·        Ability to work with lay leaders, staff of varied disciplines and senior adults; direct service to diverse population

·        Computer literacy and understanding of current technologies.

·        Knowledge of/experience with Jewish programming

·        Possesses excellent organizational skills, is detail oriented

·        Ability to view computer monitor, contracts and documents.

·        Ability to lift up to 10 lb. on a frequent basis.

·        Ability to move easily around the interior and exterior of the building and grounds, including standing, sitting, balancing, stooping, crouching, and reaching.

·        High School degree and 5+ years related work experience required; Associate/bachelor’s degree preferred

Job Responsibilities:

·        Plans, manages, staffs programs, outings, and special events for residents and community member participants including general education/cultural, visual arts, fitness, health/wellness, nutrition, music, gardening, and Jewish life

·        Manage and expand program partnership opportunities; help residents access programs sponsored by other agencies/community partners (e.g. Oasis, Jewish Family Services, COCA, U City Library, St. Louis County Library, RPI, Royal Banks, AW Healthcare, Mo Botanical Gardens, St. Louis Symphony, Touhill Performing Arts)

·        Involves residents/participants in planning; increasing “ownership” of programs; integrate knowledge of resident needs, interests with overall agency goals in planning process; Liaison for Crown Center’s Resident Council

·        Coordinate use of community spaces for resident and community use (onsite community center rooms and bus/van transportation); responsible for set-up and tear down of programs, liaise with onsite staff to ensure coordination

·        Manages program data collection; participates in program assessment and analysis
