Job Title: Campaign Manger

Department: Development

Reports To: Vice President of Philanthropy

JOB SUMMARY

The position of Campaign Manager provides support for the Development Department during the capital campaign.  Responsibilities include managing all activity related to the Better Wild, Better World Campaign including reporting, events, meetings, volunteers, and prospect management. This position is for the life of the Better Wild, Better World Campaign, which is expected to last four more years with the possibility of a permanent position at the campaign’s end.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Provides campaign management, strategy and support for the Vice President of Philanthropy, and other frontline fundraisers.
  • Manages campaign tracking and reporting, documentation of donor strategies, goals and updates, and weekly progress reports to department leadership in partnership with the Database Manager.
  • Manages all campaign events and tours including planning, execution and follow-up activity with support of the Campaign Coordinator.
  • Manages Campaign Cabinet meetings including scheduling, providing an agenda, producing presentation materials, collaborating with colleagues to gather content, writing and editing talking points for participants, producing meeting minutes, and follow-up activity.
  • Supports activity of campaign volunteers including scheduling meetings, providing data and collateral, and recording activity.
  • Collaborates with Manager of Stewardship and Special Initiatives on campaign collateral and naming recognition activity.
  •  Other projects and responsibilities may be added at the Zoo’s discretion.

JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in a liberal arts or business field preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Apps and database work.
  • Demonstrated strong management skills.
  • High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations.
  • Proven ability to multitask with a very high level of output in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent customer service skills with proven knowledge of how to work effectively and professionally with all levels of internal and external clients.
  • Ability to pay continual attention to detail and accuracy in composing, typing and proofing materials.
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and work independently.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and telephone etiquette.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends or irregular hours as necessary to staff relevant meetings and events.
  • Essential functions require the ability to sit, stand, walk, lift up to 20 lbs., talk, hear, and visually intercept visitors in the performance of the job’s functions.
  • A criminal history and background check is required and must be successfully completed.

  • Generally works in standard office conditions and climate. Some donor engagement activities may require being outdoors.
