Position Summary
The Receptionist is the first point of contact for the organization and is responsible for greeting visitors, managing phone calls, handling office correspondence, and providing administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of the Council office.

The position is full time with a competitive minimum hiring rate of $17.72 per hour.

Essential Job Duties
- Greet visitors, members, employees and other stakeholders in a friendly, professional manner.
- Direct visitors to the appropriate person or department.
- Answer phone calls, direct callers to the appropriate department, and/or take messages as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception area.
- Assist with incoming and outgoing mail and packages.
- Coordinate schedules and meetings for internal and external audiences at the Service Center and Program Center.
- Perform general clerical duties, such as preparing correspondence, filing, photocopying, and data entry.
- Protect the confidentiality of sensitive information in the office.
- Serve as a collaborative team member, working to advance the mission of Girl Scouts.
- Support other administrative staff or departments as needed.
- Perform other duties as required and/or assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Previous experience in a receptionist or customer service role preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs and other general office equipment.
- Organized thinker with exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing, and the ability to use correct grammar and spelling.
- Strong analytical skills and an efficient process mindset.
- Ability to provide a high level of customer service to internal and external customers, and to represent the organization in a professional manner.
- Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work as well as concentrate on multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced, dynamic organization.
- Ability to work some nights and weekends, as required and/or assigned.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee:
Must be able to remain in a stationary position 75% of the time.
Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery such as a calculator, copier, and computer printer.
Occasionally positions self to assist with mailing.
May need to move boxes weighing up to 25 pounds across office for various needs.
The ability to observe details at close range and at a distance.
Work Environment
Constantly works in an indoor professional office. Exposed to moderate noise levels.
