Who we are: 

The Missouri Eating Disorders Association’s mission is to fight eating disorders, educate communities, and save lives! We are committed to providing information, resources and advocacy that will change the conversation around eating disorders. We strive to bring understanding and support to those treating or affected by this devastating and serious disease.
What we do:

The Missouri Eating Disorders Association (MOEDA) is committed to making a difference by providing education, awareness, and resources for eating disorders.

Reports to:  Executive Board

Supervises:  Education Director

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Driving Financial Sustainability
  • Accountable for overall annual revenue and expense budget, including revenue growth targets
  • Develop and execute proactive fundraising strategies
  • Grow revenue through cultivating relationships with donors, sponsors and partners within the community
  • Secure new grants and maintain current grant revenue and relationships
  • Organizational lead for all fundraising events
  • Manages day-to-day documentation of financial transactions and communicates with accounting firm to ensure accurate reporting
  • Collaborates with the Board Treasurer to draft the annual budget.
  • Facilitates periodic audits and compliance activities for the organization.
  • Building Community Relationships
  • Build meaningful connections with government agencies, non-profit partners, and community leaders
  • Serves as the organizational spokesperson to promote the understanding and support of MOEDA’s mission.
  • Partners with and develops local volunteer leaders as brand ambassadors through strategic goal planning, cultivation and connection to local community leaders
  • Oversees educational programming and assists in growing these activities
  • Elevates MOEDA’s visibility through strategic marketing and public relations efforts
  • Develops and maintains an active social media presence, crafting compelling content to engage audiences and drive awareness of our mission
  • Strategic and Operational Leadership
  • Establishes and maintains strong and effective relationships with the Board of Directors, staff, volunteers and donors
  • Executes innovative strategic plan developed in partnership with the Board of Directors to ensure both the short and the long term goals of the organization are met
  • Develops detailed knowledge of organizations’ mission, programs, and priorities
  • Provides regular updates to the Board of Directors, maintaining open communication and disclosure of the conditions, operations, and needs of the organization.
  • Creating a Culture of Inclusion and Belonging
  • Nurture a culture of inclusion, belonging, and collaboration within the organization.

Experience and Education:

  • Bachelors Degree required, preferred fields- Nonprofit Management, Public Administration, Business Administration,
  • Marketing or Communications
  • Significant experience in fundraising or sales required

  • Knowledge of Profit and Loss statements
  • Ability to write and manage grants
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with government agencies, community leaders, and the general public.
  • Knowledge of nonprofit management software, CRM platforms, and social media analytics tools.

Position Classification & Compensation:

Non-Exempt Salaried Position, average 30 hours/week

$45,000-$65,000 based on education and experience plus bonus eligible
