The Manager of Corporate Gifts is responsible for the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of all
corporate donors for the J. This position has direct oversight of philanthropy efforts for the Senior Olympics
and Sports Packages at the J, as well as seeking opportunities for corporate sponsorships for other program areas
as well, ie. Cultural Arts, Jewish Life.
This role is being designed to help develop and strategize new revenue streams for J. It will report to the Chief
Philanthropy Officer, and will work closely and collaboratively with the whole development team as well as the
staff at the J.

Responsibilities:
• Actively manage a portfolio of approximately 100 new and existing corporate sponsors to contribute to
the J’s annual and long-term fundraising goals. This will primarily include corporate sponsors.
• Portfolio may include some smaller individual donors and/or donors associated with these other
assignments.
• Work closely with the Manager of the Senior Olympics to lead the philanthropy efforts and sponsorships
for that program, ensuring fundraising goals are met.
• Manage, market, seek and steward corporate and business partners for our sports package offerings,
securing both annual and multi-year commitments.
• Routinely steward corporate donors, ensuring that the J communicates with them on a regular basis and
shares the impact of their marketing visibility and our work.
• Identify, research, and cultivate new prospective corporate sponsors in partnership with Chief
Philanthropy Officer and program areas.
• Secure cash as well as in-kind sponsorships and other corporate support for the J through solicitation
methods including custom proposals, direct mail, phone calls, and personal visits.
• Participate as part of our membership in the Creve Coeur and Chesterfield Chamber of Commerce to
network for business contacts and partnerships.
• Work with our Manager of Membership and Sales on collaboration with corporate partners and leads.
• Collaborate with Director of Fitness and Membership on philanthropic strategies for our fitness
members
• Assist the Annual Fund Manager in efforts surrounding our Friends of the J campaign, including a focus
on cultivating members
• Develop sponsorship materials including sell sheets, PowerPoint presentations, and proposals as needed.
• Serves as the main staff contact for corporate sponsorship fulfillment, working collaboratively with other
departments.
• Work closely with the Special Events Manager, Chief Philanthropy Officer, and the entire Philanthropy
Team on the annual J’La fundraising event, especially the sponsorship component.
• Serve as a liaison with our fitness and sports programs at the J to ensure the philanthropy team is
updated about programs and/or events in those areas and to serve as a philanthropy resource and face
of the philanthropy team to those program areas as well.
• Assist the Chief Philanthropy Officer with Board Development Committee efforts as needed. Consider
developing a corporate sponsorship committee.
• Occasionally represent the J at events with donors
• Track and record efforts with corporate donors, partners, and prospects within our donor database.
• Execute responsibilities ona timely basis and within budgeted parameters.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
• Ability to multi-task and support teammates broadly in support of our philanthropic goals.
Qualifications:
• BA/BS degree required.
• Minimum of two years of development or marketing/sales experience.
• Exceptional organizational, writing, verbal, and presentation skills.
• Must be able to organize and implement strategic plans (financial, business development, marketing,
branding, etc.), work independently as well as part of a team, follow through on assignments, and prioritize
competing tasks.
• Collaborative spirit and willingness and ability to work as a member of the Philanthropy and J Team.
• Understanding J’s mission and feeling a connection to the J is important.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite is required (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point).
• Proficiency using Salesforce is desired or a demonstrated ability to learn new software programs in
support of one’s work.
