Accounting Analyst – Lutheran Development Group
Lutheran Development Group (LDG) is a non-profit focused on improving the built environment of St. Louis communities. Our work is primarily in the acquisition, stabilization, and rehabilitation of vacant properties, as well as maintaining a rental portfolio of affordable housing units.
Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Accounting Analyst supports all finance and accounting activities of our work. LDG will require a strong accounting background to maintain current practices and reconcile the books. Additional opportunities for detailed analysis and projections of financial implications for the organization will be presented and can be grown into.
Responsibilities:
-Record transactions and journal entries to maintain existing accounts in Quickbooks.
-Perform monthly reconciliations for all accounts and entities.
Prepare monthly financial statements including P&L, Balance Sheet, and Statement of Cash Flows.
-Oversee and manage account structures and accounting systems as needed.
-Oversee Project Based Accounting and Cash Flow Management.
-Create and manage financial and accounting documents.
-Oversee the development of annual budget, quarterly forecasts, and recording budget vs. actual vs. forecast throughout the year.
-Serve as lead contact with audits, both pre-audit preparation and external auditors in their work.
-Serve as lead financial contact for grant funding agencies by submitting draws and being a source of communication.
-Assist in ad hoc creation of financial projections, reports, and analysis to assist Director of Operations and Executive Director in organizational decision making.
-Review 990 and other financial documents for accuracy prior to submission.
Qualifications:
-A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field and 3+ years of related experience, or 4+ years’ experience without such degree.
-Understanding of GAAP and accounting best practices.
-Confidence in learning and embracing new technology including QuickBooks, Microsoft Office Suite, Google Docs, Dext and others.
-Ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both orally and in writing.
-Commitment to maintain the highest level of confidentiality.
-Ability to work for extended time at a computer, typing and recording transactions.
Salary starting at $70,000 based upon experience.
