General Description:
- Perform general accounting duties, including preparing and posting month-end journal entries in Financial Edge, account analysis and reconciliations, reporting, and other accounting-related duties
- Produce monthly financial reports for internal and external stakeholders
- Reconcile all bank statements to the general ledger cash balances monthly
- Prepare accurate monthly invoices and reports to assigned funders in compliance with applicable deadlines
- Assist Accounting & Compliance Manager in maintaining and analyzing project ledgers, which recap all contracted services, authorized contract amounts, expenditures, and remaining balances
- Calculate the value of all in-kind hours and monitor vendors for in-kind requirements, flagging any concerns where they are non-compliant
- Coordinate and extract financial data from the AgingIS reporting system, ensuring timely and accurate reporting
- Oversee preparation and renewal of service contracts in consultation with Agency Operations team
- Assist with preparation of workpaper/reports for external auditors, area plan reporting, etc.
- Assist Accounting & Compliance Manager with fiscal and risk monitoring for contracted vendors, including overseeing general compliance issues (e.g. – ensuring reporting is timely and accurate, certificates of insurance are current and compliant, etc.)
- Cross-train and provide back-up to other Fiscal team members as needed
- Maintain a positive attitude about the agency and uphold the agency’s mission during work-related and non-work-related interactions with the public and other staff

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting with two years of strong general ledger experience required.
- A solid understanding of GAAP is required
- MS Office with advanced Excel proficiency required with previous exposure to cloud-based accounting systems preferred
- Excellent analytical & problem-solving skills, strong attention to detail
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management
- Local travel may be required. Must have a valid MO driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and automobile insurance as required by the state of Missouri
