The Opportunity
We are seeking an inspiring and strategic leader to serve as our Executive Director. This pivotal role will guide Turning Point through our next chapter, fostering organizational growth, strengthening community partnerships, and advancing our commitment to survivor-centered advocacy. The Executive Director position is a unique opportunity to lead a respected organization making a tangible difference in the lives of survivors. Key Responsibilities

●     Strategic Leadership: Partner with the Board of Directors to develop and execute a bold strategic vision that aligns with Turning Point’s mission and goals.

●     Team Development: Lead, mentor, and inspire a diverse senior management team, fostering a collaborative and inclusive organizational culture.

●      Community Engagement: Expand and nurture partnerships with community stakeholders in all seven counties served – with emphasis on Warren, Franklin, and St. Charles counties – government agencies, the Coalition, and other organizations to enhance service delivery and advocacy efforts.

●     Fundraising & Grant Management: Oversee fundraising initiatives, including grant writing and donor cultivation, to secure sustainable funding for programs and operations.

●     Program Oversight: Ensure the continued excellence of Turning Point’s services, including shelter operation, 24/7/365 hotline and staff coverage, crisis intervention, therapeutic services, and survivor support programs. With 24/7 coverage as a priority, the Executive Director will serve in the on-call rotation and work in shelter as needed.

●     Public Representation: Serve as the primary spokesperson, advocating for survivors and raising awareness through public speaking and media engagements.

●     Financial Stewardship: Manage organizational budgets and resources to ensure fiscal health and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

●     Education: Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree in nonprofit management, social work, public administration, or a related field preferred. Relevant experience may substitute for a master’s degree.

●     Experience: Minimum of three years in a nonprofit leadership role, with demonstrated success in team leadership, fundraising, and strategic planning.

●     Skills:

○     Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking.

○     Strong relationship-building and partnership development abilities.

○     Proven experience in grant management and fundraising.

○     Financial acumen and experience managing budgets.

●     Knowledge: Working understanding of domestic and sexual violence issues and trauma-informed services preferred.

●     Collaboration: Experience working effectively with a Board of Directors to achieve strategic objectives.

●     Commitment: Passion for Turning Point’s mission and a dedication to empowering survivors.
