Position Overview:
Nerinx Hall, a Catholic, college-preparatory school for young women in St. Louis, MO, is seeking a creative, energetic, and detail-oriented Annual Giving Manager to join our Advancement team.
Position Responsibilities:
- Enhance and grow the annual giving program (the Nerinx Fund) with personalized cultivation and solicitation of donors including parents, alumnae, alumnae parents, grandparents, faculty/staff, and friends.
- Collaborate with the Director of Advancement to ensure a coordinated and strategic approach to the team’s cultivation and solicitation of donors who have potential to enter the major gift pipeline.
- Create strategies to recapture lapsed donors and improve acquisition of new and retention of long-term annual donors.
- Perform short- and long-range planning and implementation for annual giving programs with a multi-tiered strategy. Oversee production of appeals, mailings, list segmentation, and email campaigns. Ensures program alignment with overall Advancement and Nerinx Hall Strategic Plan goals.
- Review and verify donor data and lists for the gratitude report, drafts summary information and features for the annual report highlighting results and the impact of philanthropy for the year.
- Cultivate and nurture positive relationships with individual donors, fostering a sense of community and investment in Nerinx Hall’s mission. Manage a portfolio of donors and prospects including face-to-face solicitations for leadership annual gifts ($1,000+).
- Work closely with Communications staff to create targeted messaging that increases support and expands participation in annual giving, with an emphasis on the Nerinx Fund. Work with Communications colleagues to ensure integration of multi-channel annual giving applications.
- Create and manage metrics to measure the effectiveness of annual strategies, working with Advancement Services to build and analyze donor lists and reports, refine strategies, and enhance return on investment. Work with Advancement Services to compile and submit regular reports to the Director of Advancement and President.
- Recruit, train and support giving volunteers, especially around twice-annual giving day initiatives, growing the base of volunteer support to annual giving from alumnae and parents.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 3-5 years of experience in non-profit fundraising or sales.
- Proven success in an annual giving program. Ability to develop creative strategies to increase giving and parent and alumnae participation rates.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, creative thinking, an eagerness and ability to interact with parents and alumnae of Nerinx Hall.
- Commitment to donor confidentiality and customer service.
Strategic thinker with a forward-looking mindset. - Understanding of database management, gift processing, and donor relations. Knowledge of Raiser’s Edge is a plus.
Physical Demands of the Position: This position requires the ability to frequently stand, walk, and sit; occasionally bend, stoop, and reach; and may require lifting and moving objects up to 25 pounds.
