Director of Development
JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB SUMMARY:
Under the general direction and supervision of the Executive Director, and with the approval of the Board of Directors (through the Development Committee), the Director of Development plans, executes and measures the two major development initiatives:
● The philanthropy program to obtain private and public support for The Mary Culver Home
● The outreach program to generate resident applications from relevant local referral sources
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Pursues and reports progress on each of the development initiatives:
For the philanthropy program: major gifts, planned giving, memorial gifts, special events, and capital campaigns.
For the outreach program: potential referral sources, targeted referral contacts, results from interaction with targeted referral contacts
Seeks out for the Executive Director or board members speaking engagements to increase awareness about The Mary Culver Home within the community.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS
● An affinity for The Mary Culver Home and its mission
● Required: experience designing and implementing comprehensive philanthropy plans for human services, healthcare or social services organizations.
● Preferred: experience designing and implementing comprehensive plans to secure referrals for human services, healthcare or social services organizations.
