Community Impact Network

ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY:

The Community Impact Network organizes and facilitates social service providers in the delivery of services desired by residents. The Network works to improve the availability and delivery of services by maximizing efficiency, improving communication and empowering community members to build and protect their human capital and create wealth.

Working with partners involved in addressing outcomes related to the impact areas of: Education, Housing, Employment, Health and Personal Finance, the Network functions as a community resource manager. Convening partners from community, government, institution and social service sectors, the Network will lead four coalitions in defining and setting goals through the development of action plans with measurable objectives.

Network staff facilitate capacity-building, resource access, fundraising and information-sharing among individual coalitions and between coalitions to create a cohesive Network of cross-sector partners within the Normandy Schools Collaborative footprint.

POSITION SUMMARY: 

The Jobs and Financial Readiness Resource Manager position is a full-time, salaried position with benefits. They are a key team member assisting the Network’s strategies in support of youth and adults achieving financial literacy and access to living wage employment in the Normandy Schools Collaborative community.

The Jobs and Financial Readiness Resource Manager plays a critical role in connecting community residents to important resources by helping to build systems between partner agencies to coordinate service delivery, and by working to build broad community awareness of these services.

The Network is building a Jobs and Financial Readiness Coalition, with more than 40 diverse agencies invited to participate.  This coalition will use a collective impact process to design shared strategies and data tracking to increase local utilization and more effective and efficient distribution of holistic services related to Jobs and Financial Readiness, such as job training programs, pipelines to employment, financial workshops, financial coaching, maximizing bank accounts, etc. The Jobs and Financial Readiness Resource Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of this Coalition.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The following are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties are required and will be assigned as needed.

  • Collaborate to lead a successful Coalition within the Network’s framework.
    • Help establish and model clear expectations and desired outcomes with partners and team members throughout the development and operation of coalitions.
    • Assist Directors and CEO in the administration of Platform Partner Funding Agreements.
    • Maintain professional development and seek out innovations in the industry to bring best practices to the network and coalitions.
    • Follow policy and process to maintain established budgets, timelines and other internal systems to track and monitor progress to ensure success.
  • Develop effective working relationships with Partners, especially their frontline staff who are the key communicators for their organizations.
    • Champion partner adoption of the action plan and items associated with it.
    • Monitor and oversee accountability of coalition created action plans.
    • Champion goals and maintain relationships with partners, stakeholders, vendors and community members to get valuable feedback, ensure buy-in and mitigate risks to success.
    • Serve on local, community and regional committees and initiatives as appropriate to represent the Network and coordinate with other efforts and initiatives.
  • Assist the on-going operations of the Network Portal.
    • Assist the Communications Manager with aspects of the Network portal including Jobs and Financial Readiness partner sign-up, usage, adoption, content contributions, user support and customer consultation.
    • Validate Jobs and Financial Readiness resources included in the Network Portal.
    • Track and compile resource demands.
    • Manage partner relationships to maintain effective communication with the Network.
  • Support the on-going initiatives of the Network.
    • Integrate with other coalitions and follow best practices and standards for community engagement, community service, needs assessment and other organizational policies and procedures.
    • Manage daily network operations including identifying and addressing possible risks to success, troubleshooting challenges, re-evaluating goals and outcomes and regularly communicating to internal teams, partners, staff, board and other stakeholders.

POSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Education/Training:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Education, Social Work, Communications, Community Development, Public Administration, Project Management or related field.

Experience:

  • 1 (one) to 5 (five) years of progressively responsible experience related to the duties of this position.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Firm grasp on championing project goals, managing budgets, timelines and deliverables with internal and external partners, vendors and stakeholders.
  • Hands-on orientation with demonstrated strengths in organizing workloads, motivating users/partners, decision making, problem solving and management of multiple projects.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; sensitivity to diversity and multi-cultural issues.
  • Intimate knowledge of organizations addressing the conditions of poverty in St. Louis.
  • Ability to complete tasks and duties in a timely and accurate manner with minimal supervision.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to establish and maintain solid relationships with partners, organizations and a diverse team.
  • Ability to represent and reflect organizational values.
  • Self-directed, resourceful and possess sound judgment.
  • Efficient, high-capacity self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and ability to disseminate information clearly and concisely.
  • Team-oriented with a commitment to sustaining strong, productive working partnerships with all staff, board members, volunteers and the community.

Computer Skills:

  • PC operation at a skilled level.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Working knowledge of advanced project management software, preferred but not required.
  • Ability to work on mobile devices to access internal programs and reports.
  • Ability to learn additional software applications as necessary.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite and/or ArcView GIS is beneficial, but not required.

New Hire Probation: Six Months

Position Goals:

  • Initial annual goals will be set at a 6-month review with supervisor then every year at annual review.
