About MOCM
The Missouri Chamber Music Festival (MOCM) brings the fine art of small ensemble playing to a wide audience through engaging, accessible performances by nationally recognized artists. Founded in St. Louis, MOCM presents diverse and adventurous programs that connect musicians and audiences, encourage new music creation, and foster collaboration through educational and community initiatives, including its Adult Chamber Music Intensive.
Position Overview
MOCM seeks a part-time Managing Director to oversee day-to-day operations, fundraising, and communications in partnership with the Artistic Director and Board of Directors. This position reports to the Board of Directors. The Managing Director also supports planning and logistics for MOCM’s annual Festival concerts and its Adult Chamber Music Intensive. The ideal candidate is an organized, creative, and mission-driven arts administrator who thrives in a flexible, small-organization environment and values collaboration, equity, and community connection.
Key Responsibilities
Organizational Management
• Oversee administrative operations, contracts, scheduling, and recordkeeping
• Coordinate concert logistics, venues, and production details
• Support the Artistic Director and Board in planning and evaluating programs
• Assist in organizing the annual Adult Chamber Music Intensive and related events
Development & Fundraising
• Manage donor relations, communications, and acknowledgments
• Support annual fundraising campaigns, sponsorships, and community partnerships • Assist with grant writing, tracking, and reporting
Finance & Governance
• Collaborate with the Treasurer and accountant on budgeting and reporting • Prepare Board meeting materials and maintain compliance records
Marketing & Communications
• Oversee social media, email newsletters, and website updates
• Coordinate design and distribution of concert programs and publicity materials • Promote diversity, accessibility, and community engagement initiatives
Qualifications
• Experience in arts administration or nonprofit management (music background a plus) • Excellent communication, organization, and multitasking skills
• Familiarity with Google Workspace and donor or accounting software
• Passion for community-centered arts programming
• Flexibility to work remotely and attend concerts and events in St. Louis
