POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Program Director is responsible for the overall operations and management of the Program Department, ensuring quality programming, efficient program delivery and assessment.   In addition, the Senior Program Director is responsible for community relationship building: initiating and creating program placement opportunities with schools, districts and other non-profit organizations to develop earned income and achieve financial goals.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

1.     Develop and execute a clear vision and strategic plan, in collaboration with the Executive Director, that prioritizes program adoption by schools and aligns with Springboard’s long-term goals.

2.     Lead the program team in curriculum design, implementing innovative, school-focused programs that advance Springboard’s mission and meet the evolving needs of educational institutions.

3.     Drive program performance by monitoring outcomes and ensuring quality standards, while leveraging data to demonstrate value to schools and stakeholders.

4.     Analyze educational trends and market demands to identify opportunities for program expansion and increased school engagement.

5.     Champion revenue growth by actively promoting Springboard programs to schools and districts, cultivating relationships that lead to program placement and achievement of financial targets.

6.     Collaborate with the Development Director to secure funding through grants and partnerships that support programmatic initiatives and enhance school participation.

7.     Oversee day-to-day operations of the Program Department, ensuring efficient delivery of programs that meet school expectations and contractual obligations.

8.     Recruit, train, and mentor program staff to build a team skilled in relationship-building and program promotion within the education sector.

9.     Provide leadership in program budgeting and financial management, ensuring resources are allocated to maximize school engagement and program sustainability.

10.  Serve as a liaison between the Program Department and the management team, ensuring alignment on strategies for school outreach and program growth.

11.  Maintain and update policies that support effective program operations and compliance with school requirements.

12.  Act as an Ex-officio member of Springboard Program Committee, contributing insights on school engagement strategies.

13.  Represent Springboard at board and staff meetings, advocating for initiatives that strengthen school partnerships.

14.  Serve as a visible ambassador for Springboard in the education community—locally, regionally, and nationally—through conferences, committees, and networking events to promote program adoption.

15.  Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director, with a focus on advancing school relationships and program growth.

Minimum Qualifications

Education

·       B.A. in education or related fields with teaching certification. Master’s in education, non-profit administration or another relevant field.

Minimum Experience

·       5-10 years’ experience in an educational setting, teaching, managing staff, budgets and educational programs

Other Requirements

·       Knowledge of St. Louis educational trends, requirements and current formal and informal educational landscapes

·       Active roster of St. Louis professional school district contacts

·       Proven ability to drive revenue through strong sales skills, including meeting financial goals via program sales, earned income strategies, and successful grant acquisition

·       Experience with curriculum development

·       Experience with staff and professional development

·       Strong management and leadership skills

·       Strong written and verbal communication skills

·       Self-motivated with the ability to start, build and evaluate projects

·       Team player and creative thinker

·       Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, email and internet

·       Must have reliable transportation

Additional Job Information

Position Type:             This is a full-time, management level position.  It qualifies for all Springboard benefit packages.  It requires a minimum 40 hour work week.  Salary is commensurate with experience.

Evaluation:                  Initial evaluation after 90 days; subsequent formal evaluations annually.
