Key Responsibilities

Provide leadership in the development of short-and long-term strategic plans. Lead and manage the coordination of all fiscal reporting external and internal, fiscal self-assessments, tax filing, and other regulatory reporting.
Ensure that effective internal controls are in place to maintain compliance with General Acceptance Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Federal grant regulations, loan covenants, agency governance standards, and other fiscal accreditations requirements.
Develop and maintain staff with adequate training in GAAP standards, Federal Uniform Guidance, specific grant standards (i.e., Head Start, HUD) and agency’s internal control policies and procedures. Work with agency departments to create annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
Manage all real estate transactions, tax issues, and decontrol of apartment building.
Manage restricted assets and comply with donor instructions.
Work closely with Board of Directors, Investment, Finance, Strategic committees of the board and Metro and Head Start program directors.
Maintain banking, auditing, tax, and legal relationships.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
7 plus years of executive experience.
Demonstrated leadership, problem-solving, organizational and management experience required.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented setting.

Preferred Qualifications

CPA, Master’s Degree in Accounting or Public accounting experience.
Experience with federal grants, fund accounting, and IT.
