YWCA of Metropolitan St. Louis (YWCA) has been serving the community for more than 120 years, providing essential, wraparound services that support women and families throughout their time in our programs. Each year, YWCA serves approximately 10,000 women and their families,  offering a multitude of services. YWCA is the largest provider of direct Head Start services in Missouri, operating 8 centers and 11 partner sites, and we are proud to hold the National Program of Excellence accreditation from the National Head Start Association.

Key Responsibilities

• Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, the Controller is responsible for the organization’s full cycle accounting operations, including oversight of financial reporting, budgeting, grants management, and compliance with GAAP and federal funding regulations.
• Supervise daily operations of the Accounting department, ensuring accurate general ledger maintenance, cash management, account reconciliations, and timely month-end and year-end closing.
• Prepare accurate, timely financial reports for internal and external stakeholders; present financial data and insights to Chief Financial Officer, senior leadership and Board committees as needed.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting experience, including 5+ years in a leadership role.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.  Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration and CPA preferred.
• Strong communication and organization skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented setting.
