Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (evenings and weekends as needed)

Organization Summary

Angels’ Arms is a nonprofit organization founded in 2000 to provide safe homes and loving families for children in Missouri’s foster care system. With homes in the St. Louis, St. Charles and Festus area and serving 100 children annually, our mission is to engage local communities, provide resources, and keep siblings together until a forever home is found.

Overview

Angels’ Arms is seeking a mission-driven, experienced Executive Director to lead the organization’s next chapter. The Executive Director is responsible for overall leadership, strategy, and day-to-day operations while advancing the mission of supporting children and families in foster care. This role requires a balance of heart and discipline. The Executive Director must lead with humility, listen before acting, and create a collaborative culture that supports staff, families, and community partners.

Key Responsibilities

Provide overall leadership and direction for the organization, aligning strategy, programs, and operations with the mission.
Oversee day-to-day operations, staff leadership, and organizational performance.
Work closely with the Board of Directors and Board President to support governance, planning, and accountability.
Collaborate with board committees, organization founder, community partners, and stakeholders in a mission-aligned, advisory capacity.
Serve as a visible ambassador for Angels’ Arms in the community.
Oversee financial management, budgeting, and fundraising efforts.

Experience and Qualifications

Senior leadership experience with responsibility for people, operations, and budgets.
Experience leading organizations or teams that serve people or communities.
Strong judgment, listening skills, and collaborative leadership style.
Bachelor’s degree required. Advanced degree preferred but not required.

Experience may come from nonprofit, social services, education, healthcare, public sector, or other mission-oriented or people-focused organizations.

Working Relationships

The Executive Director reports to the Board of Directors and works closely with the Board President. The role collaborates with the organization Founder, Board committees, community leaders, and partners in a mission-aligned and advisory capacity while retaining full responsibility for organizational leadership and operations.

Compensation:

Salary: $125,000 – $150,000 (based on experience and qualifications)
Benefits: Paid time off (PTO), paid holidays, and partial health insurance coverage.
