Vice President of Donor Engagement

A mission-driven nonprofit organization is seeking a strategic and relationship-focused Vice President of Donor Engagement to lead efforts to cultivate, grow, and steward philanthropic partnerships. This role will work closely with executive leadership to engage business and civic leaders, expand major donor support, and strengthen long-term relationships that advance the organization’s mission and community impact.  The organization aspires to improve race relations in the region and places a strong emphasis on assisting African Americans and other historically underserved communities.

Salary Range: $75,000 – $85,000 annually, depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement strategies to grow major gifts ($10,000+) and overall donor engagement
Build and maintain strong relationships with business leaders, civic partners, and philanthropic stakeholders
Plan and lead donor meetings, briefings, and engagement events
Track donor engagement metrics and ensure consistent growth in donor participation and revenue
Serve as a key liaison between donors and executive leadership
Provide exceptional stewardship and relationship management for donors
Maintain strict confidentiality regarding donor information, organizational strategy, and executive communications
Qualifications

8+ years of experience in nonprofit development, fundraising, or business development
Demonstrated success in growing donor or membership revenue
Experience working with corporate and civic leaders
Strong communication, relationship-building, and project management skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital communication tools
Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information with a high level of discretion and confidentiality.
