Lift For Life Academy

Development Officer

Lift For Life Academy is seeking a Development Officer. The Development Officer will work with a portfolio of mid-level donors and prospects as part of the frontline fundraising team. The role works closely with other advancement team members and is an integral member of the team.

Donor Engagement

Working with other advancement team members, and eventually individually, cultivate, solicit and steward leadership annual and campaign prospects capable of making gifts and grants at $100-$10,000+ levels
Assist with Development strategies, participate in weekly Development planning meetings and other meetings as requested
Maintain awareness of all planned and proposed capital and special projects at school to be a knowledgeable resource for donors
·       Monitor a portfolio of (250-300) current and prospective donors primarily at the mid-range level ($100-$999) that nurtures an important pipeline.

·       Work with others to engage donors above the $1,000+ threshold

·       Assist with plans to attract, engage, retain, and advance mid-range donors in collaboration with colleagues

·       Demonstrates teamwork and support of Lift For Life Academy’s mission and values

·       Performs other development duties as required or assigned

·       Comply with ethical fundraising principles and practices, as well as organization policies and standards

Required knowledge, skills, and abilities:

·       Able to organize, multitask, and use time efficiently to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary and interactive environment

·       Ability to listen carefully, learn quickly and work effectively in a complex organization

·       Exceptional interpersonal skills: demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships

·       Ability to handle confidential information professionally

·       Participate in weekly Development planning meetings

·       Attend all fundraising events and be a visible presence and resource for donors

·       Effective writing, communication and record keeping skills

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Excel

·       Position is onsite; however, possibly full or part time, within school hours, depending on candidate.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Three+ years of experience in philanthropy and donor-centered nonprofit fundraising, or related field such as sales, with an eagerness to learn
