The Associate Director, Strategic Engagement is responsible for the development, implementation and evaluation of the organization’s strategic engagement strategy that will serve to position LHM’s brand among a wide variety of audiences. Critical to this strategy will be the inclusion of key messaging that shares the dynamic work of LHM with our current constituents and externally among other audiences.  This position will also work to facilitate mutually beneficial relationships with key influencers and partners. Part of the strategic engagement strategy will be to establish LHM employees (senior leadership and beyond) as thought leaders and/or subject matter experts in their various areas of expertise and find the relevant white space within the public sector (Christian and secular) for their individual narratives.

Additionally, this person will serve as brand ambassador for the public image and work to build relationships that foster the positive image of the organization, while also successfully leveraging and equipping LHM staff to represent the organization in external-facing situations.

Qualification requirements:

  • BA in Public Relations/Affairs, Marketing, Communications or related field
  • Minimum 5 years demonstrated skill, knowledge, and experience in design and execution of public relations/affairs, brand management, and/or marketing communications
  • Strong written, verbal, creative, strategic, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with social media, thought leadership and working with influencers
  • Proven leadership skills in team management
  • Ability to work independently and to manage multiple projects at a time
  • Ability to keep information confidential
  • Self-motivated with a positive and professional approach to management
  • Fantastic customer service ethic and high expectations for quality
  • Knowledge of the LCMS synodical structure and LCMS entities a plus
