The Senior Associate Director of Development for A&S is responsible for managing a portfolio of donors and working closely with the various faculty and deans who lead the academic life of Arts & Sciences at Washington University.
- Manage a portfolio of 200+ annual, leadership annual, and major gift prospects, employing innovative strategies for cultivating and soliciting new prospects as well as existing donors.
- Conduct 120-140 personal face-to-face prospect visits each fiscal year. Cultivate, solicit, and steward major gifts by facilitating personal interactions for donors with the deans, faculty, students, and volunteers. Includes travel to territories as assigned.
- Develop a broad understanding of the academic mission of the College of Arts & Sciences, Graduate School, University Libraries, and related Centers, Programs, and Institutes. Assist in building strategy and tactics appropriate to the ambitious goals of the Arts & Sciences.
- Establish and maintain strong and effective working relationships with the major internal constituents of Arts & Sciences as well as colleagues working throughout Alumni and Development.
- Collaborate closely with other staff, including regional directors, school directors, corporations and foundations, planned giving, reunion giving and parent giving in order to meet ambitious campaign goals. Mentor other staff as appropriate.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor degree required
- Five years of experence in annual fund, planned giving, major gift and/or capital campaign fundraising.
- Proven track record of successful solicitations.
